Lanolin

I am using the Lansinoh Lanolin while I am nursing my baby. I do love the stuff, but I didn't realize that it will not wash out of clothing and my sheets. Does anyone know how to get this out or have I just ruined several items? I have tried Oxyclean and Shout, but neither worked.

Thank you for your help.

What can I do next?

Lanolin is an oil derived from wool, so I am thinking that something like "Nature's Miracle", which is an enzyme that breaks downs proteins would do the trick.

Try Spot Shot. Blue bottle, orange top. Walmart and grocery stores carry it. It's actually a carpet cleaner, but I use it for grease stains all the time and it works great. It's never harmed any of my clothes. I was able to get the lanolin out of my boppy using Spot shot.

I have some sleep shirts that I got lanolin in and I just kept wearing them... after they were washed a lot more times, the stains pretty well washed out.

You might try goop or gojo, as they are designed to clean up greasey messes. Dawn dishwashing liquid, 409 or an oven cleaner might work also. I don't know that these suggestions will help you get the stains out, but I would reccommend nursing pads to prevent further staining. You can pick them up at Wal Mart and probably any drug store. I used them the whole time I was breastfeeding and they worked well. Good luck.

We use Goop to get out any oily stains we have. It's made for hands after working on a car, but I've had it work for any food oily stains (even after washing) letting it sit on the stain for a couple of hours works best. Dawn dishwashing liquid is also something you might try, it's what they clean animals with after oil spills.

I had the same problem...stained night gowns and stuff. For me it never came out. sorry I can't help. The only good thing was with my first I stained a few things so when I had my second I wore those bras, night gowns etc. while I was using the cream again and then I didn't stain anything new. Also you will only have to use the cream for a while...like a month or so and then you won't need it so you won't be staining everything.
