Hi S.,

I work with a Nutritional Food Supplements that includes products for women issues that has helped many women. I will be very happy to share more details if you would like. I have been supplementing for 11years and never knew hot flash, peri menopause etc.

Best wishes,

I'm not sure this is menopause related. Have you had your thyroid levels checked? (TSH, free T3, free T4)
Heart palpitations and anxiety sound a whole lot like hyperthyroidism to me.
It's something to check out with your doctor.

My mom takes CoQ10 for her heart palpitations and it works like a charm. But yes, you may want to cut down on what seems to bring them on (salty foods) and also caffeine as others mentioned since it may make it worse.

Have you tried breathing exercises, yoga or meditation for your anxiety? I know it helps some people.

Best wishes...

I don't have the answer, but I have heart palpitations too and at the most random times! I am not going through menopause or anything, and I've had every test done and the doctors said I'm fine. It is really scary and occasionally they're so bad I'm afraid I'll pass out. I also have anxiety which I was told that's what it's from but I'm not totally convinced that is it. Maybe too much caffiene? I also noticed i used to be able to handle a strong cup of coffee but not anymore. I switched to a smoother, less caffienated coffee and that has seemed to help a little. Good luck, you're not alone!

have you talked to the dr about it being hormone or anemia related? i have them but not as much as i used too and i didnt really have them while i was preggers especially after i started taking the iron pill while pregnant. if i concentrate on them it makes it worse. someone mentioned coughing when you have it and i have noticed that helps also. i had tons of tests for it, but they found nothing wrong. exercising does help - especially riding my bike.

I hear ya! I went to the doctor with palpitations that were related to my crazy hormones around my period. My doctor said that they were "normal and a lot of women have them". She is a woman doctor too!

I started exercising and the palpitations have all but gone away. If my period is late one month, I tend to get them a little bit. (I have concluded, on my own, that it is because of a build-up of hormones in my body.)

I know they really suck. Sometimes I even need to cough really hard to get my heart going again. I know. But it works. My doc suggested this to my daughter for her palpitations.

Also, sugar tends to make them worse in me. It is good you identified salt in your diet doing it to you. The anxiety probably isn't helping either...

What can you do (that you aren't doing) that will make you feel in control of your health? Doing that thing will help with the palpitations and the anxiety. At least from my personal experience anyway...

Good luck to you, S.!
