My son is 3 yo and is lactose intolerant. Does anyone know of a product that he may take before meals that may not agree with him?

A good digestive enzyme (like Zyme Prime) that is chewable. I like Zyme prime because they taste good and are good quality. Also, you may want to add cod liver oil and proibotics (1 capsule in juice per day) for many reasons (1/2 tsp a day). I assume you are eliminating all milk products replaced with rice milk or almond.

Hi H.,

Just a side note to your question....make sure it is really the lactose he is having trouble with. It turned out that after I tried to avoid lactose for a while that my daughter had no issue with it at all. She was having reactions to the synthetic chemicals in the milk (hormones, antibiotics, pesticides and preservatives that are added and those that the cows consumed). It was much easier to drink organic milk than it was to avoid it completely...

Regards,

M.

I also would try to avoid lactose. Check out some of the online vegan sites. My sister has had lifelong issues with milk and is now vegan and doing really well. I also have a close friend that takes pills before meals she thinks may contain lactose, but they don't always work.

H.- I would try and stay away from dairy first and foremost, however, if you are going to allow pizza once a week- or somethign else- I use a chewable digestive enzyme for my 8 yr old- there are plenty of different brands at health food store or herb shops- you can ask them- but I use one called AFP chewable- I forget the website- but just google AFP chewable and see what else they have available.
Good luck to you!
