Has anyone heard that St Johns in Santa Monica is losing their lactation team. ? is this a rumor. I had a great experience there last year and recommended them to a friend. How is lactation help in the San Fernando Valley ? Any thoughts I can pass onto my friend who is expecting her first baby.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much you guys, great resource to have you all around. My good friend did her homework and did tours at 3 hospitals. Going with Holy Cross, they seemed to be the most on the ball as regards all round lactation help. Will probably choose Holy Cross for my next baby, whenever that is. Feel bad as had a super experience with St Johns but they seem to have cut their program significantly according to the tour info. Thanks again.

Hi A.

We at Best Fed Babies are promoting our Virtual Breastfeeding Help practice to individuals such as yourselves. We started our business in response to new mothers who were unable to leave their homes postpartum or who do not have access to lactation consultants where they live.

Best Fed Babies also assists adoptive mothers and intended mothers of surrogacy here or where they might be traveling in other countries to unite with their babies. Please check out our Virtual Help SKYPE Demo page to get an idea of how we work.

We believe, like you, that all new mothers, no matter where they are, deserve to have easy access to exceptional breastfeeding help. All new moms deserve to experience the deep satisfaction of nurturing their babies at their breasts. This is exactly why we started helping moms virtually via Webcam & Skype. We are able to help many more women than we ever did in our traditional setting.

In the SFV, you could recommend
Bellies, Babies & Bosoms
2430 Honolulu Avenue
Glendale, CA 91020
Tel. ###-###-####
I have only been there, so I have no one to compare them to, but they're very nice and helpful and offer a Free Pre-natal Breastfeeding Support Session.

The Providence hospitals are great. Providence St. Joseph's in Burbank and Providence Holy Cross near Sylmar are great.

It isn't the whole team leaving. Just Elaine. The other two lactation consultants will pick up more hours to fill the void. I think there will no longer be consultants on the weekends, though.
