Hi A., I was on La Weightloss after I had my son. It works, but it is very expensive, and you have to buy all of their protein bars, and supplements. If you have the money go for it, the appointments was 3 times a week for about 5 minutes, and they are very kid friendly. I would have to bring my son in once in a while and they all loved him, if they weren't busy they would play with him. So if you have the money go for it, it is a very easy program to do and to follow, and they have meals that is good for the entire family. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I have to give a plug to weight watchers too...I wanted to get to a healthy weight before getting pregnant. I succeeded, then had a baby, rejoined and got back to the heathy weight pretty quickly, and then had another baby. I am a 'lifetime' member and am working at getting these last few 'baby pounds' off. Our leader's name is Fonda - she has 17 different meetings throughout the week around the Twin Cities. She is absolutely hilarious! Weight Watchers is only 12 dollars/week too!

I myself looked into LA Weightloss. The biggest thing for me was that I was told I had to pay over $400 up front for the first year. I know you get one on one with someone and there are regular meetings to go to. Similar to Weight Watchers only more expensive up front and you get one on one vs. the group setting. Good luck.

Hi A.~

I myself have not joined L.A.Weightloss but my best friend and 24 yo daughter did.
My best friend was a memeber for a year paid the $800 and did the $30 a week for the bars and lost all the weight only to have the all the weight and then some back on 6 mos later. She was told by them it was because she quit and she needed to do this the rest of her life. (She quit cause she couldnt afford all the bars and suppliments)
My daughter also paid the $800 and lost weight very slowly. She was told by one person she didnt need to buy the bars and then later yelled at cause she wasnt eating the bars. In 6 mos she lost 30 pounds. But she quit because of the cost and broken promises they made to her about the weight she'd lose.
L.A. Makes great promises about giving money back once you lose the weight but most people dont do it in that time frame and if they do my understanding is the money is given back in credit to be used towards the bars and suppliments.

Good Luck in what ever you choose!

I paid almost 2000.00 for LA Weight Loss. You have to pay the entire fee up front. The 2000.00 covers the bars and the 11.00 a week cost. I am a single parent and while it looked good and WORKED the first 3 months I was on it, (I lost 30 lbs) after I lost my initial weight, I plateaued and they told me I was cheating on my diet. I just finally put my plan on hold until I have 2 incomes and can afford all the fruits and veggies and everything else. I know you don't have to get the bars, but if you do, and keep your weight off for one year you get half of the cost of the weekly visits back.

If you like I could look for my books and share them with you. The plan they would put you on would depend on your starting weight and how much you want to lose, and how quickly.

The plan does work, but if you cheat once or miss a serving of something, I noticed my weight go back up.

Also if you do go, wear the same clothes EVERY time you weigh in, that's the only way to get an accurate reading on the scale! Another thing that may be difficult for you is you have to go in 3times a week to weigh in, if you don't, you are "breaking" your contract with them and you are no longer eligible for that 50% refund...If you want to go to lose weight, by all means do, if you can afford it. Just know going in you DO NOT HAVE to buy the bars and supplements!!!!!!!!

I have never done LA Weight Loss, but I will tell you that I saw something on the news about it- the people never being trained in helping other with weight loss and some other disturbing things. I have also been told that it is quite expensive.
I suggest Weight Watchers. It's $11 a week or something like that. I did it and lost 35 pounds in a few months. Plus, the meetings are actually fun and you meet some very nice people.

I lost 35 pounds on la weightloss after my first baby. Its basically a low fat, low carb, low sugar diet. It has a weekly fee, but the kicker is that you have to pay for the entire plan up front. And this includes not only the weeks it takes for the weightloss, but there is also a year maintenance program after the fact. They will also try to sell you food and vitamins and stuff. You don't have to buy it, but if you do, the cost will go up considerable.

There are no meetings, like weight watchers (which I really liked) but you go in 2-3 times a week for weigh-in and a sit down with a consultant (approx 5-10 minutes each time.) It worked for me but then I got pregnant again and moved. My daily commute went from 15 minutes to 1.5 to 2 hours. I didn't have the time to keep up the daily diary and the sit-downs.

I thought it was a great program when I was doing it. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.

They were featured on 2020 or some similar program and more than 5 people who had tried them, as well as a few people who quit working for them said it's all a scam to get your money. They are never trained to help you with weight loss, they are just trained to sell the products. The people who had tried them actually gained weight from all the products, and not having proper nutrition council to lose weight.

I don't know much about LA and haven't heard any good things about them.
Here's what I did and lost 60 lbs and have kept it off for almost 3 years now - without exercising (I have bad knees).
Go on ediets.com and join, it's was only a few dollars a week when I did it, I'm not sure what it is now. It's the coolest thing because you can pick which kind of diet you want to follow (I did Atkins) and they give you tons of menues to choose from and you can mix and match. You pick out what you want to eat and then click on shopping list and it'll print out a shopping list for you! How awesome is that! We were only members for a few weeks and I spent a lot of time looking over the menues and educating myself and then just stuck with what I had learned. The weight came off in like 6 months and now I weigh LESS than when I was a teenager. It's SO easy and you can buy real food at the grocery store so you won't go broke. Another cool thing is if you aren't happy with the plan you choose you can change it every day if you want. I stuck with Atkins but you can choose from a whole bunch of them.
Here's another tip that kept me going. I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted for lunch every Saturday. I would spend the whole week thinking about it :o) but it kept me going because I knew that I wasn't having to go without everything. I'd have pizza and ice cream or whatever. I actually liked the atkins diet because you can eat all the cheese you want and I love cheese on everything!
Anyways, sorry for being so long but I get excited to talk about it because I know dieting is hard and this was pretty easy. I went from 196 to 133! Size 18 to size 6!
Good luck and email me if you have any questions,
J.
