I am having a terrible burning pain in my right knee. Also if you place your hand on it when I move it, you can feel it gring/pop. My foot an toes stay so cold. What is it? It is really starting to bother me. I know I should go to the dr but it isn't that easy when you have 1income 2kids & my husband's schedule is ridiculous. I have tried warm baths, heating pads, cold packs, ibuprofen & NOTHING helps.

What can I do next?

You should see a doctor just to be sure the coldness isn't from circulation. Something could be pressing on something in there. I know that's a very medical sentence. Sorry. I have had that from an injury to my knee and there are exercises to do if you are sure it's okay to do them and so see a doctor first just for evaluation. I know how hard that is to get to a doctor with kids, money, etc. though. I had to wrap my knee when I first hurt it and that helped some but you need to know how to wrap it or how to wear the support.

You really do need to see a doctor. This is unlikely to heal with time and waiting could cause more damage.

A "burning" type pain, usually means some kind of nerve damage or inflammation etc. Hence, MAYBE that is why your toes feel so cold.

The "popping" sound, is sometimes damage to the "Meniscus" of the knee.

Did you injure your knee at any time that you recall?

Instead of Advil, try "Aleve." This is also for pain. 1 pill for 12 hours. For some people, including myself, Alleve is very helpful.

But inevitably, you NEED to go and have your knee checked.
Moms, need to take care of themselves.
Moms are no help to their family, if they are debilitated.
Tell your Husband you need to go to the Doctor and adjust his schedule so you can do so. And he can watch the kids.
Or, get someone else to watch your kids.

My Husband, had a knee meniscus problem. He eventually had surgery for it. But his knee, still bothers him.

This may not be your problem, but you do need to get it checked.
Do not guess. Because guessing will not bring a proper diagnosis.

There are a million, well at least ten, reasons for your symptoms. All point to seeing an orthopedic surgeon. If you ignore it at some point your knee will lock up and you will not be able to walk. This will always occur at the worst point in time!

When my knee "burned"? It was a torn miniscus. if your foot and toes are cold - you need to see a Dr TODAY - an orthopedist to be specific. If you want to walk for the rest of your life - you NEED to MAKE the time.

TODAY. Not this weekend, not next week - TODAY. Go to an urgent care.

If your foot or toes are blue or ANY other color than the other foot - GO NOW.

Try using a knee support (sometimes called "stabilizers") for a few days or even a week. I'm talking about the black elastic type ones you can buy at Walmart. I use them when I go to a weight lifting class or when we go skiing, they offer a lot of support so your knee can heal if it has been strained.
