As the wife of a military veteran who is classified as 200%+ disabled this makes me furious! If this woman if offended by our flag she needs to GO BACK TO AFRICA and the person who demanded the flag be taken down can go with her. Although I am quite certain that whatever African country she is from is supported in some way by the United States, whether is be through government assistance or through American charities. This woman should be grateful that the United States is a generous, Christian nation who believes that all people have the God-given right to be free and have their needs met. Our military is protecting the freedom of other peoples and sacrificing their lives RIGHT NOW so this woman and others like her can have the same opportunities and the freedom to work and have their needs met as Americans do! Memorial Day is to remember the people before us who gave their lives for freedom (for all, not just Americans). I am not letting this rest and I ask the rest of you to do the same. Contact the hospital, state representatives, tv, whomever...This is unacceptable!
I suggest, S., that you tell your daughter that there are people in this world that are so selfish that all they can think about is their own feelings, their own wants, and their own desires. BUT, that is not God's way, he commands us to "love the Lord God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. We must fight those things that are wrong through our words and actions and most importantly through prayer. It is okay to be upset over injustice, after all Jesus, Himself, overturned the tables of the money changers in the temple.
