My mom wants a regular kindle so she can read outside (we got her a Kindle Fire 2 years ago but she can't see the screen when she takes it outside in summer). So, on Amazon they have one with special offers for $69 where special offers will pop up on the screensaver and at the bottom of home screen. The one WITHOUT special offers is $89. Those of you with a Kindles with the offers.... is it more annoying than it's worth? Since this is a gift, I need to know if I should just go with the 'no offers' option and pay more.
I have the Kindle Touch and don't really find them annoying at all. In fact, I have found some good books via the offers!
I don't even notice the offers. It's not annoying, really.
The kids have kindles with offers - they don't pop up - it's just an ad on the home screen when you first turn it on. Not a big deal.
And if you change your mind later, you can pay the extra money to change it.

Can't you just buy the anti glare piece that goes over the screen. They must sell one.

I have the Kindle Touch with offers..... the offers don't bother me at all..... when I open my case up, I see the offer, but as soon as I push the button, the ad goes away and I see my book.
I totally ignore the ads...... except for one.... the other day, I opened my case and it looked like there was a huge CRACK across the screen! It did make me look again... but it was advertising a book and the picture was the cover of the book...
(I paid $99 for mine 2 years ago, and absolutely love it!)
My kindle has offers and I don't even really notice. Doesn't bother me at all. I LOVE my kindle. I would go for the discount!!
