Has anybody gone to Kindermusik? I am thinking about enrolling my 18 month old. Is it fun?

What can I do next?

I'd suggest trying a class first. I don't know where you live, but Kindermusik has demo classes at the public library. You might try there first since semester classes (I think) run a bit longer than the summer ones. That way you can try it before you make a commitment.

I tried the signing class when my son was about 9 or 10 months. I also tried two summer session when he was older too (about 18 months or so). I was really frustrated because my son is ACTIVE and the other kiddos were doing things like sitting in their mommies laps and holding hands and other things. My child wanted to run around the entire time. The teacher (Heidi who is really nice) was cool with that but I felt a little like the "bad parent".

Even now if we go to the library for Kindermusic, he does the same stuff a whole year later. He loves music, but I guess just doesn't like the structure of it. The other teacher doesn't take so kindly to wild children like mine. (I'm joking here because other than running around, he's not a wild man....really.) So I guess what I'm saying is.... it wasn't fun for me. My son? I think he has just as much fun elsewhere without having to pay the hefty tuition. This is not to say you and your child won't like it. I'm just saying, try it first to see if you like it before dropping all the money on tuition.

I can't speak highly enough about the program. My daughter has been going since she was six months and is now four. We are enrolled through Sound Steps. They more than live up to what is promised on their website. And until they are three, it's parent/child classes and I don't know who had more fun -- me or my daughter!

We go to Kindermusik and my daughter (5 months) LOVES it!!! We go to "Kindermusik at the Korner Kottage" and there are 7 satellite locations around DFW including Keller, Southlake, and Coppell. If you get on the Kindermusik website and go to 'find a class' or something like that, they'll have the closet Kindermusik teacher get in touch with you AND you get to go to a class for free. My degree is in music so I can assure you it's a high quality program that will truly benefit you and your child. Have fun!!!

My son has gone to 2 classes in frisco and we had so much fun! He was 3 at the time and they get instruments and lots of activities to do at home.

It is great for kids and lots of fun, but a little pricey. We have a music class for babies called musikarten here at the Nestingplace that is a little more reasonable for a semester and still incorporates all of the fun for mom and baby alike.
