T.M.
I drink tons of water and it helps a little. Or else i say oh well and eat what i want that day....lol!
When you get up in the morning and realize your clothes are a little tight... Do you run out and buy some comfortable clothes in a larger size? Do you find your biggest stretch pants and hope it gets better? Or do you run to the store and buy all kinds of veggies and make a big pot of veggie soup?
This question is very tongue in cheek. But I faced this exact thing today. I have managed to stay in the same size of clothes for the last 10 years but have not had the will-power or enough desire to diet out of them.
This morning I was brooding over my low bank balance and all the bills due (more than what's in there)...I read the question on here asked yesterday about our definition of broke. I thought I'd go and get a big bag of potatoes and some Alfredo and make a big pot of potatoes augrautin. THEN I got dressed. RATS... I spent 98 dollars on healthy food instead LOL
Money has been tight lately so I've been hitting the pasta, pancakes, breads, and potatoes more than usual. I'm definitely not bloated :) I just like my fatty foods too much.
Exercise wise I haven't been able yet to keep up with anything due to pain in a variety of places and times. I'm always putting something out or straining or spraining something.
I drink tons of water and it helps a little. Or else i say oh well and eat what i want that day....lol!
That is the exact feeling that keeps me in check. I don't buy ANY new clothes, I deal with the discomfort of muffin top. Then I start cutting treats and eating better until clothes feel more comfy. My workout pants become my uniform too! Resist the urge to get bumbed and dive in a bag of chips, or buy bigger clothes. Let it motivate you...
EDIT: I thought it was funny how lifeisbeautiful used the same choice of words!
Ha! It puts my butt in check!!! I am so graciously reminded that I have been treating myself more than I should have. Back to veggie boot camp for me hahaha
NO, I NEVER BUY larger clothes. I suffer, work out, eat healthy and have a muffin top until I conquer it. And will do so for the rest of my life every few weeks I guess. I refused to give up my old jeans after all 3 pregnancies and got back into them by hell or high water.
I was recently thinking I want to go back to the days of corsets, I was watching Masterpiece Theater "Downton Abbey", and one of the micro waisted sisters was saying to the maid, "Do be a dear and loosen my corset a bit" and her sister snipped, "That's a slippery slope" and the first one said, "I haven't gained weight!" and the other one said, "It didn't shrink in the drawer".
Think about it, if we had to fit in our corsets every day and show up to dinner every night in our custom made formal gowns and take dainty polite bites, we'd probably never gain weight.
I know I know. I never said I was a feminist. :(
I hit the gym and get some comfier clothes if I can spare the money (I wear skinny jeans as it is). Are you bloated or did you realize they have been a little tight? You don't have to "diet" per-se just watch your calorie intake and make sure everything is balanced. It is impossible not to lose weight if you are burning more calories than you eat or very close to it (not including genetic or medicinal barriers of course). I can tell you, I would never last a diet, I adore food. I just eat junk in a somewhat moderation but even if I eat chips if I'm burning it off then no biggie, my problem is findin stores that sell my size.
Hmmm, try to focus on this I DO like about me, and remind myself I'm just not that INTO MYSELF.
:(
Well good for you! Makes me wanta go eat sum ice cream! Damn the food! When my butt looks bigger I just want to eat! That's exact opposite of what I need to do!
Work out and just try to maintain a healthy diet. The weight isn't going to go anywhere unless you do something about it. Start out with some cardio then gradually go onto somethingelse, even yoga is great! I enjoy yoga more then pilates. Also watch your carb intake, potatoe's, rice, pasta, bread, etc. I don't look at it in a way where I want to lose weight, for me it's about being and feeling healthy.....Good Luck!
I buy bigger clothes,
My pants are stretchy spandex workout pants, and on the loose side - so I never have that problem anymore. I was so sick and tired of wearing jeans that would never shut, so I never have that problem anymore. Comfort takes priority over everything else. I too have not had the will power to be able to stick with a 'lifestyle change = diet' for more than a week. Just think, us gals with the 'reserves' will outlast the anorexic chicks when famine and WWIII happens ! So stockpile girl !! :)
I'm all for veggies and fruits...but also lots of protein.
Honestly, it's been a while since I've been in that situation. I keep having babies. In the past five years, I'll have had four babies (my first I had four years before my 2nd). I would probably do something that makes me feel better about myself as well as change my eating.
