Kids Hair Salon

I just took my son to Zippity (sp) Doos in Roslyn (right off the LIE). It has all sorts of bells and whistles like sitting in a jeep or car and watching a video while they cut hair. I didn't need all that, I just wanted someone who knew how to style a kid's hair.

It's quite pricey: $24 for a haircut. My stylist did a decent job (better than a barber). It might be worth it for a girl's cut or if your child is afraid to get his/her haircut, but if you are doing a basic cut, I don't know if it's worth it. The place is very cute and they also sell toys and your kid gets a balloon when they are done.

Hey C., There is a great kids place called Zippity Doo's but it's on Willis Avenue in Williston Park and the cuts are about 22$. I had to take my son there at first because they had cars for them to sit in and videos for them to watch. I then found a place right on Northern Boulevard, across from St.Nicholas's Church in Flushing. I believe the place is called Jimmy's and they do children's haircuts. They were very nice and they have a plane chair in the back for the kids. Hope that helps!

i'm actually a hairstylist. i work out on the island but live in fresh meadows. i freelance, and since i only work 2 days a week, i have lots of time to work on my own. i can go to you, that is usually what i do and cut your kids hair in the comfort of your own home. i come with all my tools. i know what it's like, i have a 4 1/2 year old boy who screamed his head off during a haircut.
