Kids Getting Naked

First congrats on number 4.
1.tape pulled tight all around the diaper so it has to be cut off
2.snap crotch undershirt then snap crotch shirt then rubber pants then overalls no snap crotch
3. also could try a belt on pants or suspenders.

Even two year olds need to understand there are consequences. I can't come up with any at this very moment, but obviously doing things to prevent them from taking off the diapers seems to be more a challenge so there needs to be an equation such as a) if you take off your diapers you won't get b) whatever means something to them and c) if you go on the floor then you won't be able to go to d) wherever that is. Of course since I don't know what those are I can't help with those, but I raised two sons ( one does wear clothes now, but did the same thing many, many years ago ) and I worked in daycares and preschools. The equation usually works, I just can't come up with what x is. And that you wonderful mother of almost four is my daily math. And God bless your sister, too! S.

Surely isn't funny. My nieces' daughter did this until she was 7 years old. Maybe you can take the favorite toy away. If that doesn't work, a 2nd toy and 3rd if necessary. The difference with twins is that they laugh at eachother and copy eachother and one always follows the other ones actions.. I know, I am one.

My advice is "this too shall pass"! My little guy (now 4 1/2) used to do the same thing. It made me crazy, but he just liked being naked. He used to step outside to pee on the patio (better, perhaps, than the floor, but no less frustrating to me!)

I decided at some point to just ignore him-no attention positive or negative. He only did this at our house-no where else. Later, as he was older and had a little better understanding, I told him the only places he could be naked were in the bathroom or in his bedroom. Then, when I would catch him with no clothes on, I would remind him of this and then ask if he wanted to put his clothes back on or go to one of those places. At some point, he decided he'd rather be in the family room than by himself in his bedroom and the problem resolved itself.

On the plus side, they are learning how to "control" that urge which will help when they are ready to potty train. :o)

My girlfriend had the same problem with her daughter. What worked for her was she gated off her kitchen and made it the designated "naked zone". she used her kitchen because her daughter also would pee on the floor and that was the only tile she had. She also made her daughter just stand in there or sit on the cold tile because she was not allowed to sit on chairs with no clothes on. My friend would make her clean up the mess when she peed on the floor. Of course she also cleaned it after her daughter. After a while this phase passed. Now she can laugh about it but at the time she was at her witts end.

Perhaps this can be turned into a learning opportunity instead of punishing them.

Try one piece outfits put on backwards so they cannot get to the snaps, buttons, zippers etc.

Use rewards. If they keep their clothes on for an hour they get something they enjoy and slowly extend the time.

Have a time that is is ok to be naked. It takes the fun out of it if it is OK.

Time to potty train...no ifs ands or butts about it. :)

No compromises. They don't want to wear a diaper then they must wear big pants and no messes either. They pee on the floor then give them paper towels and a plastic bag to put them in. Make them get on their hands and knees and clean up their own mess. Explain they made the mess so they have to clean it. Period. When she sees them peeing, put them on the potty immediately. If they get the pee in the potty, give them a chocolate chip. Paper towels for the mess they make.
