I am traveling early 2011 and want a travel bed that is light and easy to manage. Any suggestions? Specifically, the Kidco Peapod seems to fit my needs and the pricing is reasonable. Can a 3 month old use it? The online info say that it is for birth to 3 years but I want a mom's answer. THANKS!!

What can I do next?

We used it, but I didn't really like it. It was hard to zip without waking her up and once she realized she was being zipped in, she didn't like being in it. It also got a little warm in there, so I worried about proper air ventilation. I would spend the money on the Baby Bjorn travel crib light. Our daughter is 2 and I wish wish wish I had gotten that instead!!

We have the Peapod, and while it's not as big as a pack 'n play (as far as packing or baggage), it will take up quite a bit of room if you have to pack it in a suitcase. I think it's a little easier to use with an infant since it's not rolling over. When kids start to roll and move around a lot more, the air mattress can shift or the kid slides off the air mattress. You'll have an easier time if you're able to put your baby down drowsy but awake. Be sure to try it out a few days ahead of time for naps to get the baby used to it.

TOO YOUNG to be put in that position for any length of time. There are some clear guidelines and if it isn't an infant carseat designed for that age, don't risk it

I have one. Bought it when my daughter was 2, but I don't see why a baby couldn't use it from birth, since they just lie down in it. There are no safety issues that I can think of.

We use the Baby Bjorn Travel crib lite. It folds up so easily and only weighs about 10lbs. We love it. Baby Bjorn also makes a sheet that you have to buy to use with it. You can buy it at Buy Buy Baby and use the Bed, Bath and Beyond 20% off coupon on it.

I think if you got the PeaPod Lite you would be ok. That one doesn't have an air mattress. I don't think I'd want an infant on an air mattress. I'd be afraid it would deflate and the baby would suffocate. Or you could get one of the other ones and leave the air mattress out until your child is older.
A friend has a generic version of this. She used it outside for her baby girl last summer. It was nice because the baby was shaded.

I asked a similar question regarding the PeaPod a few months ago.

I had bought one, brought it home and set it up, and I was just NOT a fan. I ended up never using it and returned it. Looking back, I don't get what I was so infatuated with about it. No regrets in returning the product.

PS - My son was 3.5 months old at the time I had purchased this product.
