Hello, I'm one of the co-chairs of the parent council in my son's school. We meet once a month in a Macdonalds that has a playground inside the restaurant.
This weekend our group will be a little bigger (6-7) and I'm looking for a kid friendly place that the moms can talk while the kids play.
Oh, it has to be a place that opens at 9am

Thanks in advance

Most of my mom, school, scout, etc. meetings and meetups happened at the park. Free and outside, win win.

I think you should edit the title of your question to add "San Pablo CA" and click the button saying it's a local question. Sending this out nationwide isn't going to give you quality or relevant responses.

(And I see a suggestion that you go to a Chik-Fil-A. I wouldn't. A lot of people refuse to patronize them due to their discriminatory policies. I think you should steer away from controversial locations to allow everyone to participate.)

Have you tried the public library children's room? Local town recreation center? YWCA? A church or synagogue open to community support?

When mine were that size, we'd meet at the park and bring lunch. Chick Fil A has an indoor playground but I don't think they open that early.

My first thought was like Michelle. Why not a park?

If the weather is nice, and your location has them, meet up at a park with a playground or other feature interesting to kids. Many parks also have shelters in case of rain or to get out of the sun.

Chuck E Cheese would work but not at that time (they open at 11am).

I am of the mindset that folk need to go back to 'at home' entertaining. What's wrong with having it at someone's home (backyard, playroom, etc.)?

In my group pf pals, they have mostly all bought these big homes yet always rent out places for functions--seems silly to me.

Maybe the beach? Or a park? Or someone's house? Or rent a boat and go for an early-morning boat ride, the kids can swim around in the water while the parents talk and drink coffee/mimosas on the boat - sounds nice!!

How about host it at someone's house?

Well, there are usually about 15-20 kids playing on the playground at McDonald's when I go with the kids so I'd still go there. At 9am it's a pretty sure thing that you're not going to be there at the busiest time of day either.

We used to have playdate at the park but the high school kids that were ditching school and smoking pot in the play train and then the lady who smoked like a chimney and had the mouth of a sailor sort of took the whole thing to a level we just didn't want.

It's a public place that is open for anyone to smoke or drink or cuss or yell or anything so we started meeting at a church. They let the kids bring their bikes and ride them in their gym. It was so much better.
