Keepsake Books for Greeting Cards

Like most of you I'm sure, I have received many cards with well wishes when I had my babies, and continue to accrue cards as birthdays come & go. I tend to be a pack rat about these sort of things: I have every birthday card I've ever been given.

I'd like to keep the cards we've recieved for the kids in book style keepsake format, but I've not been able to find anything via google search. I'm hestitant to put them in a scrap book b/c I'd have to glue/tape them to the pages and many of them have notes on the back (ie what the gift was) and I want to keep that information in tact.

Does anyone know of the existence of such a book, or have suggestions for alternatives (other than putting them in a box)?

Thanks, Mamas!

I have all mine on binder rings (I think that is what you call them). If you just punch a hole in the top corner, then you can keep them bundled. I do it by child.

Buy a 3 hole punch thingy at Staples, get a nice looking 3 ring binder, and just punch holes in your cards and add them to the binder. I'm not very crafty... but that seems like an easy way to store a LOT of cards.

You can use photo corners gluing them to the paper and then slipping the cards into the corners. Or, buy a scrap book (12 x 12 is the best); remove the paper from the plastic cover; with a craft knife, carefully cut 4 slits in the paper to fit the card(s); insert the cards into the slits; and then put the cards/paper back in the plastic cover. You will have to take them out of the plastic to view the inside or the back, but they will be protected.
If you ever get into scrapbooking, you can use your saved cards to embellish/decorate your scrapbook pages.

I scan stuff like this and keep it in a folder until I have accumulated a whole bunch of them. Then I can make them into a book using Shutterfly or kodak gallery or one of those memory websites. The worst part is uploading all of it onto the website so it can be made into the book. The books are not too expensive and then I don't feel bad about throwing all of that stuff away. I do this with my kids artwork from school as well.

Wow! Love the reponse ideas. I too have all my cards from 26 years with my husband and all my kids cards! I love the notebook idea, but I have stuck with boxes as my lot keeps growing!!! I went to Homegoods and TJ Maxx and looked for those really pretty decorated boxes -bigger than a photo box. I got a more masculine print for my son's cards and floral for my daughter's. I scrapbook also and do a Holiday book using the photo cards and others that I get during the season.

I once had a story book that was about friends communicating as penpals over their summer. The book included "notes" and "cards" they sent one another. some of the cards were glued directly to the page (you can probably do this with some, just not the ones with writing on the back) and some had envelopes glues to the page and the card/note was completely removeable. It was really cute. I think you can take a scrapbook and make different pockets and envelopes to put the cards in on the pages. it woluld be cute.
