Bug spray works for us if we're out during the day, but at night or near dawn/dusk the mosquitoes are out in force and at those times absolutely NOTHING will work..
Now that we're in the middle of summer the horse flies are biting too and bug spray doesn't keep them away.

How old is your spray, are you getting it all over?

I am bug food and I never get bitten if I am sprayed.

Where are you on vacation?

If you are in New England - bug spray doesn't work against "No See 'Ems".

Have you sprayed the yard as well as your body?

Put on pants and a thin long sleeve shirt. Light colors.

Sorry you are being bitten!!

Is this at your home? Did you spray the yard?

On your body, you need to spray it on your legs, arms and neck.. Remember places like your ankles, behind your knees, neck and at your underarm area, the crook of your arm.

These are where the sweat begin.. the larger veins.. That is what these bugs are attracted to.

I spray the yard.. It lasts for 3 months.. Then we do not need, spray on out bodies.

What kind of bug spray are you using? How long are you outside before you're bitten?

we don't use lawn spray because it kills good bugs too, like honeybees and praying mantises.
no bug spray is so efficacious that it works for all people, all bugs, at all times. you've got to figure out which ones work with your personal chemistry. you may have to investigate natural repellents like citronella, vinegar, vitamin B and tansy, as well as use DEET-based chemical sprays. off has a little fan thingummy that you can clip to your belt that keeps wafting repellent around you.

My mom used to get bit every time she went outside also. She now takes Odorless Garlic pills on a daily basis & hasn't gotten bit since. She swears by it. You can also try keeping a dryer sheet in your pocket, that has helped for me when I am at my sons soccer games in the grass.

Good luck
