KC Area Consignment Sales

I have a lot of baby clothes in great condition and I'd like to sell at one of the seasonal consignment sales but I'm wondering which one. I was hoping that some of you may have some first hand knowledge on which ones are the best in terms of attendance, organization (is it well-run?), amount you can charge/get back, etc. I have a lot of twin clothing and I was thinking that this might be more in demand as the KC Mother of Twins sale, or maybe it doesn't really make a difference. Any insight you can provide would be great.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have sold at both the JBF and Kids Closet Connection Sales in Overland Park and I've been happy with both. The last couple of times, I have sold at both sales within the same season because they are usually held at different times within a couple of weeks of each other. So, I will take my stuff to whichever sale is being held first and then pick up anything that doesn't sell, prepare new labels, and take it to the other sale. I also usually have a few things that I just didn't get ready in time for the first sale that I take to the second sale.

The first time I took items to a sale I ironed almost everything because I thought it would sell better. That took a HUGE amount of time and I felt like I didn't make enough money to justify the amount of time I spent. Since then I have only ironed things if they really need it. I always wash and dry everything before putting things on hangars so most items look just fine without being ironed and they seem to sell just as well.

First off, I'll say that i haven't consigned with any of the local sales, only shopped them. I've generally shopped at two: Just Between Friends (JBF) and Kid's Closet Connection. I think the JBF sale gets the most traffic, because they do tons of promotion (tv, radio, etc). I've found that the prices charged per item of clothing are higher at the JBF sale. I think the overall organization of the sales are comparable. Personally, I prefer going to the Kid's Closet sale because it's less crowded, the prices are better, but there's still tons of stuff. But i realize that would be opposite of what a seller is looking for in a sale! :)

I have done the JBF sales about 4 times now and have been pleased with it. It does take a lot of time to tag and get your stuff ready but it has been worth it for me. Most things sell and I have always come out with more money than excepted. I think it is very well run and gets tons of traffic.
