We don't usually just say HI THERE!! So I thought I would! Hope everyone is doing good and preparing for the Holidays ahead.
I was wondering what the average price you spend on each child .. this is our first Christmas with two children, the baby was only 1 month old last year, this year my son is almost 5 and my daughter... a year.. lol. We are on a kind of tight budget, but not too bad. I want the gifts to include ALL CLOTHES, toys, books, and shoes. Any advice on GOOD places to shop with decent prices? I have only looked at a couple consignment stores, and what a waste! For all of the things my kids need to catch up on, I would spend a fortune. My son had a huge baby shower, and an older cousin, so he was given a lot, we live in another state now, so it's not that easy, he's finally thinning out on clothes and toys. And while I was pregnant I bought all of the things I needed for my daughter for the first year, so she is also getting low. Any ideas or suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! :) Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi T.,
I usually buy thier clothes at Burlington. The cheapest place for toys that I found is at Wal-Mart, and they have layaway too! Keep your eye out for the coupons in the paper. Last year JC Penney was having a huge sale on clothes, I think the coupon was for every 50 dollars you spend, you get 10 dollars back, even if the item was on sale! We have 3 children and try to only spen 150 on each, it is hard, but we only buy if it is on sale! Happy Holidays and Happy shopping! M.

I also love the books at Ross, and believe it or not, Dollar Tree has great books for a buck. Marshalls and T.J. Maxx also have good deals on toys and clothes, but be sure to check all of the seams as they carry 2nds and the clothes sometimes have flaws....They also still have lay a way witch is great if you can plan ahead...good luck...and all the best!

Happy Holidays to you and all the other moms out there as well. I usually buy my son (4yrs) one or two gifts for Christmas but that's because I am on a super tight budget so sorry I'm not much help there. However, even though I currently live in MA I work for the pricing team at Target and I know that Target often has a lot of stuff ranging from clothes to shoes to toys, and pretty much everything else on clearance all the time. I buy all of my sons clothes there and often can get him 3 or 4 outfits for around $10 or so, sometimes less. I know there is a Super Target on US-19 in Clearwater and was told the other day there is one in Largo as well although I have never been to that one. It's definitely worth a look, sometimes you have to hunt through the clearance areas a bit, but often you can get some great deals. Hope this helps, and have a great holiday! P.S. Just another hint..I know that the Boys,Girls, and Infants sections all get priced on Mondays throughout the entire company so if you see something one week that you like and there are a lot of that item, check back the following week on Monday or after and it probably will have dropped in price again.

Hi. I only have one child, but have several nieces and nephews that I have been buying gifts for throughout the years. I find great deals at Target...as someone mentioned previously, they are constantly marking down prices and putting things on clearance from one week to the next. I often can find nice toys and clothes for 50% off or more. Borders has a really nice selection of books and puzzles at very good prices. I usually go to the Borders in Carrollwood. Also mentioned were TJ Maxx and Ross, which carry lots of toys and books as well as clothing. Check out The Children's Place for clothes on sale and also Disneyshopping.com if your children like Disney items. I find a better selection of things online and they are constantly having good sales. Right now, they have many t-shirts and toys marked down and are giving an additional 25% off with the coupon code: ourgift. Shipping is only $5 with a $50 or more purchase-I know because I just bought some things online :) The biggest money saver for me is starting early. I know this won't help you this year, but I usually start shopping several months before Christmas. I buy one or two of those plastic bins from Target and whenever I find something at a really good price (like 75% off) I think of who I could buy it for and then stash it away in the bin. This is also good to do for kids' birthdays and last minute gifts as they come up. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
