I was just hoping to get some (any) info from anyone who may have had this happen. I am45 yrs old and I feel young for this to happen. Although I have had a child when i turned 40 and another 2 yrs after that. i am thinking that may be why?? Anyway I have looked it up online and have seen exercising to "hold things up" but to be honest that doesnt seem realistic?? I have also seen the other options. I have not made a decision and am doing nothing because i dont no what to do. i am afraid if i wait to long it could get worse?? or cause other prolapses (like bladder or something) ???? I just wish i could feel the security of knowing everything is in place and is going to stay there and not have to worry about it. Also if they did a surgery to "tie things back up" wont it fall again? Huhhh?? THANK YOU SO MUCH for any advice, insight, etc!!!

There are physical therapists who specialize in pelvic floor issues. If you use an OB/GYN ask for a referral. If they can't give you one, call a midwife practice in your area and they WILL give you a list of physical therapists. If you are stuck,email me and I can find one near you.

My sister had this when she was 28, she had to have a hysterectomy. A year later a friend of ours had the same thing and had a hysterectomy also. she was around 27 or so. I hate that you are going through this! I will keep you in my prayers!
My mother had this happen, she had my brother at the same age you had your last, and she had to have her uterus removed. She was MUCH better after that.
I'm only 35 and was just diagnosed with a urethral prolapse. Luckily I don't have any symptoms and it was only spotted during my well woman. I've had three kids and I think my episiotomies probably contributed to the problem. I'm also breastfeeding and my fertility hasn't returned yet. The urologist said that it'll probably go away. Anyways, I feel young for this problem too. (I know yours is a bit different, though). Hopefully exercise will help you.
A hysterectomy seems pretty extreme. I was diagnosed w/the same thing and dr. recommended a pessary (didn't work), physical therapy (worked a little but didn't cure it) and a mini-sling. The sling is minimally invasive and sounded more my speed for now (I'm 40). I want to have the surgery for the sling but need to wait a little longer until my baby (2) is more self-sufficient. I was told you couldn't lift anything over 10 lbs. after the surgery for 6-8 weeks. It would be impossible to not lift my 2 yr old for that period of time. I have been dealing w/this since the birth of my first child so it's been almost 5 yrs. It hasn't gotten worse during that time but if it does, I'll have the sling surgery sooner than planned. Definitely see a urogynocologist that specializes in BOTH the urinary and gyno fields. Good luck.
I don't want to sound rude, that's not my intention at all, but are you planning anymore children? If not why not have a hysterectomy? Think about all the benefits. You'll feel better, you won't have the pain and discomfort from a prolapsed uterus. No more periods! That would be enough for me. I would have them leave me my ovaries as not to jump into menopause. Worry free sex, can't get pregnant, and you're not worrying about birth control. Just my thoughts. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Are you planning on having any more children? Just wondering because my sister had it and ended up having a hysterectomy. She was in her mid 40's. Had her kids in her 20's. Good luck!
