My daughter is 2 and has many colds this past year as she has 2 older sisters in school.

For her, it usually starts with a runny nose, sometimes with a fever. Then the coughing comes a day or two later. At night, we notice she coughs more and is generally achy, but a dose of Tylenol takes care of that easily.

Colds usually last 4 (ish) days. I'm a big believer in letting things run their course and only give medications when really needed.

You're funny! :)

I have four kids, so four different humans and each one responded to each specific cold virus they got.

So I guess to answer your question, they responded the way their body dictated. I know this doesn't appear helpful but it really is. You can't look for A B or C because then O presents itself and you won't realize it is also a cold symptom.

I have learned ... every cold is different.. some colds make the nose run and run and run.. other colds cause fevers and generally feeling yucky.. some colds have a lot of coughing and mucus..

but most regular colds last 5-7 days.. my dr. said that kids get 7 colds a year.. unless they are in school or day care.. then they get 3 times as many.. so 21 colds a year.. and this year I think we are way over average..

When mine is sick, most wouldn't know it. Other than a runny nose or an occassional cough he acts like a typical toddler. A cold barely slows him down.

good luck to you,
