My grandson, age 2 is a dare devil and has no fear of anything. He gets hit on his head a lot and in one spot more than other. Should I look for anything or be concerned about these places.? One on his forehead seems to receive more than it"s "fair share". I worry about later years with headaches, etc.

What can I do next?

I would suggest a good chiropractor who treats children, to help minimize the future negative consequences of these daredevil acts. [Do get a recommendation, because there are some quacks out there; but a lot of chiropractors are great.] My sister fell off a horse when she was around 12-15 years old, and started getting a lot of ear infections, very bad, after that time. Regular doctors were no help, so finally she took her to the chiropractor she was seeing for her bad back, and with a few adjustments, her ears cleared up and she didn't have any more infections. (She's in her 30s now, and occasionally needs an extra trip to the chiro, if she strains her neck or feels an ear infection coming on; but he always clears it up.) That's just one example I cite to show that the neck and spinal column have far-reaching effects, and you can use chiropractic to help minimize it.

I would recommend looking into an osteopathic doctor (D.O.) that does cranial osteopathy or CranioSacral therapy. That's what I did with my kids and it ended headaches in one and ear infections in the other. One of them was about 2 when we started. They apply less than a nickel's worth of pressure, so it is very safe. I read popup books, etc. to mine while they were having it done and they did not notice anything except someone touching their head. Good luck.

My sons ages 24 and 20 did that when they were younger too. one was the chin and the other was the back of the head . They are both fine now and had no problems other than when hurt they would hurt the same places every time or close to it . Just make sure if it is major take to the doctor like i did. and kiss the boo boos better. He seems the way your talking he is all boy and the bumps and scrapes are gonna go with growing up. Hang in there and he'll be fine

My son will be 2 in December and is very much the same; he is a daredevil who loves to climb and jump with no fears. He has cuts and bruises on his head all the time from his adventures. His pediatrician said it is common for little kids and as long as there is no severe swelling, it's not anything to worry about. They are built tough for a reason. I don't remember my daughter hurting herself nearly half as much as my son, but then again, everyone keeps telling me it's a boy thing.

If you are overly concerned, have mom bring it up at his next doctor's visit. His pediatrician will be able to tell what is normal bumps and bruises and what is not and should be watched.

Good luck! And be prepared for years of cuts, bumps, bruises and possibly broken limbs.

I have similar experience and agree with Tayna. My son is two and in tears with worry for his little Noggin asked the doc at his appt and he calmly explained to me the brilliance by design of their skull. In all of his years of practice he had rarely seen a head injury that was not related to a motor vehicle accident. Hang in there. he also mentioned that kids that are climbers also tend to be incredibly agile- I guess we can count that as our blessing.

His Dad was right there when my son fell. He got stiches at 22 months just over his left eye which seems to be the place that he is prone to falling. I am pretty sure that with two young boys that will not be our last trip to the ER. That being said we DID attach everything to the wall so that if (when) he decides to scale his dresser again it cannot fall on top of him. These safety ties are a pain to install but will put you at some ease in the years to come.
