Hi all!! Just writing because I was wondering if any of you have experienced these symptoms. Long story short, for years I have been plagued on and off by things like tendonitis, muscle tissue swelling, and numbness and tingling in my arms and neck. About four years ago, it was so bad I was getting what is called Lhemitts shock in my head ( basically like feeling like somone is electrocuting you for a few seconds). Anyhow, I was tested for everythin from A-Z, and had MRI's to rule out MS, tumors, etc. Everything came back negative...for which I was very greatful, and decided that I would just deal with thing as they came up. I decided to loose weight, I was a size 26 and manged to get intoa fourteen again before getting pregnant with my daughter, was troubled minimally by my symptoms, and over all felt great. Now this past year my symptoms are flaring tremendously...I am have tingling in the top of my feet, back, arms, neck, and patches in my legs, I cannot sleep well, everytime I get a cortisone shot to take away the tremendous swelling in one of my fingers, it only reappears in another one weeks later, I am sensitive to the sun,my face gets red and blotchy as does my chest, my weight will fluctuate as much as ten pounds oin one week no matter how much or how little I am eating ( oh and yes I am back up to a size 18 again, because I cannot seem to get my weight to balance out here), the tendonitis and muscle tissue swelling has spread to my ankles, elbows and wrist now, it used to be just in my fingers. My stomach hurts a lot now since being diagnosed with diverticulosis at 31, and I am overall just crabby becasue I do pot feel well. Oh let's not forget muscle weakness. Have any of you out there had symptoms like this that could, or could not be explained? If so, what did you do? Rheumatologists tell me to see orthopedists, orthopedists tell me to rheumatologists, neurologists tell me to someone else, you get the idea. One thing they all agree with, is these symptoms are not in my head...their is physical evidence that it exist...bt they figure it is some sort of autoimmune thing, but they don't know what because nothing shows up in blood work, or other tests, at least this was the general consensus four years ago. This is the worst I have ever felt, and now they want to do more tests...I don't know that I do. Any advise is appreciated, thanks for your time.

What can I do next?

My husband is a chiropractor and here is what he has to say:
I understand that you have gone through numerous tests with little answers it sounds like. I know you have more than likely had some kind of nerve testing as well, but from your description there is no question that there is nerve interference affecting both the upper and lower extremities. From a chiropractic standpoint my first concern is with the structure. More specifically if there is anything affecting the curves and/or alignment of the spine which in turn is affecting the nerve roots leaving from the spinal cord. In my office I have seen many of the symptoms that you are describing and many times there is a direct connection to the curve of the neck and/or the lower back creating abnormal pressure on the spinal nerve roots. If there is a problem with the structure it will always affect the function. My recommendation is to visit a chiropractor that looks at and corrects structural problems. I know my office is a little far from you, in Sycamore but we do have two other offices one in Bartlett and one in Elmhurst, but there are also many chiropractors in the Naperville area. If you have any further questions I can answer for you please e-mail me at ____@____.com.

Sincerely,
Dr. Justin Coop

Have you had your thyroid checked? Those symptoms may be related to a problem with the thyroid.

Hi A., it was strange reading your request, my 30's started out very similar to yours,(miserably) & I had just had my 3rd child. I am 40 this year & I went thru many Dr.'s, none offered any help, honesty their med's made me worse in the end. I dabbled in natural stuff on my own then I stumbled upon a woman in Palatine(a Dr. in Oriental medicine). She has done numerous testing on me (blood, urine, etc.)& corrected what was wrong over an extended period w/ differing suppliments, acupuncture, structual massage & few prescriptions. I can not tell you how much better I am today, the pain still bears its ugly head on occation but not everyday, all day like it was. If you are open minded, & fed up w/ western doc's, you might want to search out a healer like this or if you are interested Dr. Rose Lopez # is ###-###-####,(____@____.com).
FYI: I have an HMO & they covered nothing she did for me, over several years I paid out of pocket for every service (lab, treatment, meds) but itemized my taxes, writing it off at the end of the year. I still get a tune up every other month, but I no longer have a primary care doc, I don't need one anymore. Anyway,
Be well... Cindy L.

Hi!
I am sorry to hear about all your problems. That must be difficult with two children too! I would defiantly get all your blood work done again because alot can happen to your body after you have a child. Sometimes good things but also some bad things. It doesn't hurt to get more than one opinion too. I know you did this 4 years ago but alot can change in that time and you might be able to find a new doctor that can help you. I wouldn't be satified with the answers you have gotton especially since there is physical evidence to your problems. Noone knows your body better than you and these days, you have to speak up for yourself because it does sometimes feel like noone gets what you are saying. Keep trying and take care!
