I drink Sa Via ... basically it's Aloe Vera juice ... it actually does help me on a day to day basis ... I like the Mango flavor and can find it at my local groceir or at amazon.com.
So if you read my last post, this question will make you laugh because they are related.
I just have pains in my knees and hips and I don't know what to do to help it. I am active and work out but ever since my second kid, all my joints hurt!!
Anything you take for it?

Take an anti-inflammatory regularly for a few days until enough is in your system to actually work. Such as advil, 2 tabs every 4 hours or so. Google "anti-inflammatory" diet and find foods that naturally remove inflammation in our bodies, there's plenty of them. You may be eating something that causes inflammation, there's plenty of that out there too. Here's a link with some great info: http://www.womentowomen.com/inflammation/causes.aspx
I would have your vitamin D and calicum levels checked. These are the most pulled form your your body during pregnancy. I would start with a vitamin supplement and talk to your Dr.
Percocet & Ibuprofen.
Occasionally morphine.
Occasionally xanax or valium or ativan (to make me care less and stop the shaking from when the pain has flooded my system with too much adrenaline).
Will you probably need these things? Unlikely. Point being, though, get checked out. Myself, I have dozens of rips and tears in my tendons and ligaments (3 in my right meniscus alone, and I've got dozens in total). I've also separated the cartilage from various places it belongs, and muscles from various places they belong, and nerve damage in many, many, many places. I don't even need to go IN for physical therapy anymore from the waist down, because I do all the exercises every day and have for 20 years as long as i'm not in an acute injury.
You know what CAUSED this? Being active and working out and collecting small injury on top of small injury and not dealing with them. So not only did all the small ones pile up (creating big problems) but they created a weak system for LARGE problems (like the 3 tears in my meniscus) to happen.
Being pregnant did a number on my system in many ways, but the softening of the CT that happens caused some major problems for me... because I use my muscles to support where my tendons and ligaments are supposed to. It took me 3 solid years of painstakingly careful rehab after pregnancy to get back to 'normal'. Fortunately, I didn't need physical therapy 3x a week, but only because I've got all the toys at home. I just touched base once a month to make sure I was still doing everything I ought.
If I'd just taken a few months off 20 years ago. OR a year or two off 15 years ago... none of this would have happened.
Get checked out.
The worst thing you can do is to let a small injury get worse by not caring for it properly.
I have joint pain and take a Glocosimine/Chrondroitin pill that helps a lot.
.
I love Tylenol's muscle rub. Or Tiger balm.
OTC meds make me sick...my body does not digest them very well.
This stuff is great. My oldest is now starting to ask for it on his knees around bed time because he is hitting a growth spurt....He hates taking meds too...so this has been a happy medium.
Make sure your shoes have enough support...And that your feet are not possibly going flat...If they are that could be causing the pain in the hips.
I had giant arches from ballet.....After about 5 years of not dancing my arches started to fall. For along time I had to wear and insert. And could only stand for long periods of times in my Dansko's.
You can also try a joint formulated Multi vitamin....They get very specific if you go to a vitamin store.
Good luck and drink Plenty of water.
cut out all transfat. seriously. made a huge diff for me.
I would go to the doc to make sure nothing is pinched just to make sure. My husband has joint pain, partly from shoveling 2 feet of snow last february mostly by himself. Ever since, he elbow hurts. Also partly from nerve damage from a work injury. He tried the Glucosamine pills but got better results from a liquid--Joint Juice. It is cheaper at Target in my area and you can get a coupon online. I read some people get better results in liquid form due to the way their body processes pills.
Do you eat a lot of red meat? My X-FIL used to eat red meat a lot and he was having joint pain as well. I think his may have started in his toe. Anyway the Dr said he had gout, and to quit the red meat all together and his pain eased up within months. Just a thought.
