JFF....what's The Weirdest Thing in Your Pantry?

I was sorting through my pantry right now and passed up the 'Chocolate Covered Grasshoppers' - again. Not sure what to do with them. I haven't even worked up the nerve to taste them. Mainly because they got squished in my daughters back pack on her flight home from Guatemala and I feel like I should at least give them a go.

So, what weird items do you have in your pantry?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Laura....I love tongue (lengua).

Suzmomof3 - pour the jalapeno jelly over a block of cream cheese for a appetizer at your next party. Super tasty!! Or google recipes...that stuff is delish!

Jacy, is the Gnome edible? Or is he keeping tabs on you?

Robyn, never heard of Czarnina until now. It's certainly a 'frugal' soup...blech.

Malia - you win with the Silk Worm Pupa (Bondagi). We eat Korean food regularly and I have avoided those. I believe they are a stir fried with red pepper and green onion and served with beer or sake.

About 10 end loaf slices of bread in their bags since my husband opens new bread if there are only a slice or two left in a bag. Sigh. And never cleans the pantry. Sigh.

Well I spent all day yesterday cleaning out my grandmother's pantry and reorganizing it for her so that she would have more room for food during the holidays... I was pulling out food that expired in 2007 and she is sitting there saying "Oh no, it's still good"!!!

I told her to shush and anything that expired before 2011 was going in the trash. Anything past 2011 she could keep, but I was gonna stop eating at her house! Lol

Not in my pantry, but I refuse to go in my freezer in the garage. My son puts his trapping animals in there so I'm pretty sure there's muskrat, racoon and mink in it. I refuse to go in there...

Well it's in the fridge, not the pantry, a bottle of "Aiptasia," a concoction to "stop those pesky anemones before they put a stop to your corals."

LOL, we have a saltwater reef aquarium, in case you're wondering :-)

Nothing beats your answer!

Nothing "weird", but a few months ago my husband and I counted 8 bottles of BBQ sauce in our fridge and pantry combined. We decided to make something in the crock pot - pork maybe - with the sauce. Now we are down to 5 bottles. How do we get so much bbq sauce? We've never said "Oh hey let's eat that with some BBQ sauce." I guess it's time to make BBQ sandwiches again.

I have a jar of honeycombs. I'm not sure what to do with them. Do I just use the honey, or are you supposed to eat the honeycomb? They were a gift.

We have a bag of Colorado Bear Poop I brought back from a recent trip. It's really chocolate covered toffee nuts, but my son thinks it's a GAS to pop a bear poop in his mouth.

Well, it isn't there now, but a few months ago, we had Czarnina in our refridgerator. It is my husband's most favorite EVER soup. I won't touch it though.

I am afraid of what's all in my pantry. I try to stay out of it. I am sure there is some moldy bread in there. I let my husband organize. it and throw stuff away.

Redneck Pepper. I got a variety 3 pack and intended to give it to my dad (I think) one year for Christmas. Needless to say, I forgot. I keep thinking I should go ahead and use it (or just give it to him anyway), but I never remember it's there until I go to organize. http://www.facebook.com/RedneckPepper

We have some Dark Chocolate Pasta in our pantry. I bought it in Seattle at Pike Street Market. We tried some of it with ice cream on top because that was a suggestion from the person selling it. We weren't that fond of it so that is why the other packages are sitting in the pantry :)
