J.L.
I love cheese and crackers...Melted cheese over tortilla chips and salsa, Mint chocolate chip ice cream, or mouse tracks......chips and dip. brownies and the new snickers with peanut butter OMG.......
I hope everyone gets the joke in this. I've been dealing with a sick, inconsolable baby for some time...and dealing with other certain stressors that really have no place...
so now that baby is quietly resting (finally), I am going to ask a JFF question of my own!
Favorite snacks? No healthy snacks allowed...I want to know what you go to when you need something full of sugar! (or salt, or whatever your pleasure.)
For me, it's Haribo Raspberries and Pepperidge Farm Raspberry Milano cookies. :)
****ADDED*** Oooh, and you know what else I love? Milky Way's new "Simply Caramel" candy bar. Oh goodness...it's like homemade caramel wrapped in chocolate, and I keep finding them on sale. I really hope they don't discontinue it!
By the way, I am scarfing the cookies while I write this. Nope, it's not from stress....I just want them, and I only buy one bag a month. I figure the calories add up to be the same whether I eat them all now or spread them out, right? :) (Just kidding, though...I'm only going to eat four. Five. Okay, I am at least not going to lift up the paper and eat another layer.)
I love cheese and crackers...Melted cheese over tortilla chips and salsa, Mint chocolate chip ice cream, or mouse tracks......chips and dip. brownies and the new snickers with peanut butter OMG.......
I am a salt fanatic and unfortunately have many favorites....lime tortilla chips w/ quacamole, tortilla chips w/ taco dip, homemade ranch/dill pretzels, salt/vinegar potato chips, crackers w/ sharp cheddar cheese, triscuit crackers w/ cream cheese and green olives, pita chips w/ homemade spinach dip (sr cream, racnch powder, frozen spinach & shredded parm). I could go on and on....Probably my biggest go-to in times of stress or really feeling like I "deserve" a treat is chili-cheese fritos (gross, I know).
Ohhh, this one is a evil one as I have being on diet for 2 weeks and now you got me thinking on them!!!!!!!!! lol.
I love to have both, my husband makes fun of me because right after I had something sweat and need something salty or the other way around.
For sweat I love DQ cheescake & caramel ice cream.
Salty I love pretty much everything with hot sauce, salt and lots of lime (chips, popcorn, fruit, nuts, etc)
Thanks a lot Mrslavallie! (just kidding).
Oh I feel like such a cow even admitting these, BUT, when I am going to splurge, I don't mess around. I have a few go-to favorites. One is tortilla chips dipped in a bowl of shredded cheese, mixed with sour cream, garlic powder and Panda Express Orange sauce (no I am not pregnant, just a freak with my food)...my other thing is coleslaw....BUT I make it with extra mayo, a heap of shredded jack cheese, bacon bits and raisins. Way to demolish my healthy cabbage huh :P
Cheetos - the original ones - that turn your finger tips neon orange when you eat them. I have no self control with them so I try not to buy them at all.
Oh, and chocolate mint chip Girl Scout cookies- thank goodness those are only sold once a year!!!
Mmmmm, snacks.
Oh boy, where to begin...
Any kind of sweet baked stuff - cookies, brownies, pie. With milk, so at least that is the healthy part. Favorite cookies include chocolate chip, Oreos, and Milanos. Of course, there are no baked goods that can't be improved by the addition of vanilla ice cream.
I also love any kind of gummy candy - both plain (gummy bears, gummy worms, etc.), and with the sour-sugar coating, like Sour Patch Kids. I especially love Swedish Fish.
Ooh, and Reece's Peanut Butter Cups! Can't forget those! :)
This time of the year my guilty pleasure are Cadbury Creme Eggs. OMG I LOOVVVEEE them! Mouth watering heaven in a chocolate creme filled egg.
Any other time of the year a big fat chocolate covered strawberry, or cherries...and brownies. ;)
Unfortunately I can't have any. This year my SO and I made a bet to see who could actually follow through for Lent (he gave up fast food). Come Easter sunday though.....those delicious little cadbury creme eggs are all mine!
I just discovered Forerro Roche (spelling?) they ROCK!
Brownie with melted Hershey bar on top (cut brownie to size, slap on a Hershey bar, microwave for 20 seconds, serve with a scoop of vanilla--pure bliss).
Goat cheese on anything.
During this specific time of year, GIRL SCOUT COOKIES! OMG! I am lucky they aren't available 12 months a year. I had 8 thin mints in one sitting the other night!!!
chocolate pretzels and puppy chow arf arf :) (begging for more puppy chow ) :)
Vodka cranberry :)
Lindor dark chocolate truffles
hummus and crunchy pita chips
vanilla frosting from the can!
cucumbers in toasted asian sesame dressing
And I DON'T SHARE WELL!! :)
I never feel guilty when I snack!
HA! I love it! (Hope baby gets to feeling better soon!)
-Chocolate poptarts (ewww. gross, I know!)
-FunYuns when we go rafting or on road trips
-Bologna sandwiches on white bread with lots of mayo and cheese and iceberg lettuce....disgusting I know! (I hardly even eat meat or meat products, but sometimes, I just want some bologna!)
-Raspberry Zingers-I eat one of these about every 18 months, I have to reach a REAL low point before I do that!
Chocolate Mint Milano cookies, Pepperidge Farms
Fresh Peach or Blueberry pie, just the filling part, I don't eat much of the crust, just one bite of the gooey bottom center part of the crust.
Today I made chocolate pudding for the kids and added 1/2 cup of chocolate chips at the end to blend and melt in, and I left a significant amount on the spoon for me.
Any dark chocolate.
Ju Ju Fish, lemon ice pops and potato chips I can no longer get because I moved out of state (they are only sold in PA and one little area of NY). Boo...hiss....now I want those chips! Maybe I can get them online (failing that I am going to have to ask my dad to ship me some...yum, yum).
Twin Bings or other Candy bars...lol I never smoked, drank or drink coffee so that is my biggest vice.
I have plenty. Depends on the mood. for stress, sunflower seeds. I know it's gross and yes I am pretty classy otherwise but in the comfort of my home, away from probing eyes, i love sunflower seeds. they are huge stress reliever. I don't know what happened but I have always disliked sweet stuff. not so anymore, since december. so i love ice cream. being at risk for diabetes, i am not eating any. but what i do is go to grocery store, view the ice cream isles and start imagining how they taste. i miss it. i have a huge crush on breyers chocolate-vanilla ice cream divided into 4 full bowls, and eating them all. but i must resist. i must resist. i must resist.
Chocolate of ANY form! Ice cream. Anything baked. I'm a sugaraholic. I just have to be careful how much I keep in the house.
I love brownies (fresh, outta the oven) and right now I am LOVING donuts. We have two great donut shops by us, Top Pot and Frost. Both make their own donuts at the shop and are fabulously yummy (right now my favorites are bourbon pecan and white chocolate raspberry..YUM!)
Cadbury Creme Eggs and Cadbury Milk Chocolate Eggs! Both my girls were trained at a young age to come crawling/running when they saw them! The other day my 18 month old found my stash of the little eggs and came in with 2 fistfuls and a mouthful and a BIG smile! hehe and last night she was very disappointed to pull an empty creme egg carton out of the trash! LOL I saved a bag last Easter to reward myself when a very stressful financial/legal situation came to an end...in October I got to enjoy them! It stinks it's seasonal but I have a back up - my friend & her hubby (he's the one that makes it!) keep me stocked on a little tub of chocolate chip cookie dough once a week-2 weeks. and I don't care what my bil says I haven't gotten samonella in the 18 years we've been doing this I'm not stopping now! (but that's another question!)
I will eat the entire bag of $2 chetoes cheesepuff things. the $2 bag, they are really light and melt in your mouth even more than the regular puffs...like you aren't eating anything at all but I love love love them!!!
Oh my goodness! Ice cream. Mmmm.. I also LOVE Girl Scout cookies (Samoas- yum, yum, yum). LOL I actually went online tonight to find out when cookie sales will start in my area. (This weekend they will be at Jewel- Yay!)
Robyn- your coleslaw thing sounds so yum! I once in a while mix sour cream, guacamole, a little salsa and some garlic powder and eat it with tortilla chips. I have some weird food combos that I love too.
Pretzel M&Ms and Cadbury Mini Eggs!
Salt and Vinegar Kettle chips...I CANNOT have them in the house regularly because I cannot resist. I am not a snacker, I don't really like any kind of sweets except Butter Rum LifeSavers which I like to chew on, so I rarely buy those. Sooooooo, those are my def go to's when I feel like splurging. I don't feel guilty eating them all in one or two days either, because I know when I buy them this is how they will be consumed. :)
I've got my laptop on me and a bowl of cadbury chocolate easter eggs within reach, or anything milk chocolate, mmmmmm
Great question! I love dark chocolate. So a dark chocolate haagan das (sp?) ice cream bar or Junior mints. LOVE them. :) Another fav is chocolate dipped strawberries--- real dark chocolate-like the 70% cacoa kind :) It always puts me in a happier mood.
M
Teh Pirate's Booty (I think that is the name) sncks are so good, I ate an entire bag in 2 days. I also can not get enough of Trader Joe's Crispy Green Beans. Delish!!
Spitz Brand Dill Pickle Sunflower Seeds... I can't stop once I start.
love lays plain potato chips... pringles sour cream & onion, & on the rare occasion i eat chocolate, its those red wrapper lindor balls that melt in your mouth, I'll eat as many as available to me.. so I rarely buy them! mmm
Oh, ours is Cheez-its with cream cheese! His mom had this as a snack growing up and now it's our fav!!
Warm chocolate chip cookies with a scoop of vanilla ince cream. MMMMMMMmmm!
Whole Foods sells these Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels. Good LORD they are heaven!!!
Weaknesses are fudge, cookies, cake ... sweet baked goods. Fudge is the biggest weakness and gets me in trouble because I have a health condition where I'm not supposed to eat chocolate (not to mention weight to keep off). My MIL sends us a huge tin of it at Christmas and I can count on gaining 5 lbs. from it all.
Gummy candies.. pop tarts.. and girl scout cookies. :)
I have a HUGE sweet tooth! Hmm...depends what exactly I'm in the mood for. I go for twix a lot and I love blizzards/mcflurrys, especially with oreos or reeses (two other things to add to my favorite list lol). Basically, if its chocolate I'm not going to turn it down. When I'm wanting something salty I go for Grandma Utz potato chips. Yum!
Lay's classic potato chips....yum, yum..... Also, chocolate fudge cake....so yummy....LOL..My mouth's watering thinking of both of those snacks.....:)
