I used to wrap unpackaged treats in paper for the dog and unpackaged catnip for the cat and watch them go crazy trying to get at it.
Santa always brings our pets treats in their stockings. We do not buy them individual toys, clothes, or bedding type things. What type of things do your pets get for Christmas?

just for fun 2 years ago, my daughter & I baked dog treats in the shape of a bone for the myriad chihuahuas in the fam. Put them in dollar store tins & I think they were enjoyed; I believe one niece said the dogs liked them. Certainly looked cute.
Tried to make some tuna cat treats but the recipe was a flop. lol
catnip.... :) we have a totally spazzed out cat for a few days as a result
we got our dog a new bed last year. I'm not sure what she's getting this year, but it will probably be a toy.
We are getting a new scratch tree for our cats and my son wants to pick out a squeaky mouse for his cat Wall-e ;)
Beef jerky and catnip. Probably a few dog toys as well.
Some new treats and a pigs ears.
Old dog always gets tennis balls and treats in his stocking. Cats get treats and toys (catnip) in their stockings.
fresh smoked pig ear from the butcher shop!
One year hubby was deployed and instead of getting myself things I stuffed my stocking full of doggie and kitty toys.
THey always get a little something, and a little turkey too. :o)
Nothing under the tree but santa always fills a stocking with catnip and pounce treats for our kitty (its really for my oldest daughters excitement)
Our 2 kitties don't get any more toys unless they start learning how to put them back in their basket. :) Under the tree they will find BOWS on presents. Every single year people can tell exactly which presents came from us because our cats bite and chew them. They will probably get a tiny piece of roast beef from the table though. :)
Our dogs Trina and Snickers have stockings and they will find new collers and treats inn theirn stockings. J.
She won't find anything under the tree. But she has her own stocking and usually she stares at it when it gets stuffed on Christmas Eve after everyone else is in bed.
She usually gets some liver treats, a new bone (not rawhide but real cow bone), and some sort of stuffed squeak toy character. And new frisbees once in a while (I usually just put those in the closet though, b/c they come from Old Navy and the kids know that). One year her stuffed toy was a blue fuzzy gorilla that looks sort of like the abominable snow monster from the animated Rudolph. Last year it was a monkey with really long arms and legs and a Santa hat. She knows it by name (the monkey), lol.
When her stocking is stuffed, the animal sticks out of the top so it can "see" out... hahahah and she will sit right down in front of the fireplace, in a perfect "sit" and stare up at it, then turn her head slowly towards the back and look longingly at me (as if to say: "do I REALLLLYYYYY have to wait until morning?")
Dog bones
This year, one dog is in dire need of a new bed. She will get it. :)
A new ball?
Then as always: love & hugs.
p.s. They'd get toys if they played w/them.
My pug is a Christmas Eve baby so he gets birthday and Christmas presents. He usually gets a couple of new toys, some bones, and some of his usual treats.
Already have my cat's toys. I bought one of those pet stockings last year and she only "needed" a couple of the toys (there were a lot!). This year I'll give her some more from that stocking (a catnip mouse, a ball with a bell in it, etc). I'll get her a pouch of her favorite treats and call it a day.
My dog: she's a new dog so she's got her igloo style doghouse and a nice new bed, some tennis balls, new leashes and collar, and a couple rope toys (she destroys any other toys in minutes, no matter what the package says about being for big dogs).....so for Christmas she'll just get some jumbones and a pig ear, and maybe one of those stick things that holds the ball so you can throw it without getting your hand slobby. :) She likes treats and is more of a "catch, fetch, run the beach, and wrestle" kind of dog.
Peanut Butter Flavored Raw Hide bones. But, my dogs get a new toy every month! They LOVE the giant rawhide bones and other simmilar dog toys/treats. I also stock up on dog toys when they go on sale at PetSmart or Pet Co!
Kali (dog) will be getting a new bed. She will also get a new rope toy. Those are the only ones she can't /won't tear up. I've tried every brand of kong toy but she destroys them. She is a 100lb. American Bulldog with the jaws to match. The biggest sweetie I've ever met as well.
Tweezer (cat) will be getting a pack of tennis balls. He carries them around in his mouth and drops them at your feet to play catch. Its obvious he's been raised around a dog. Hilarious!
Flea dip/spray/pills...all three have the little buggers!!
Maybe a little Nip for them all.
The only thing my pet will find under the Christmas tree is a bunch of presents for the actual people, lol! I've never gotten into buying gifts for my animals.
Well, we lost our doggy in August so no pet gifts this year. :(
But we always wrapped up several cute doggy toys for him to unwrap AND he got a stocking full of Beggin' Strips, Iams bones, etc.
lets see... our dogs (mine and my mils) will be each getting a stocking with toys (from walmart), lots of treats bones rawhides etc, treats and toys in their stockings from santa, and we will be getting our dog a new bed since he tore his up when i shut him in his kennel during a thunder storm this week. out dogs are spoiled. they love tearing and ripping the paper open. my dog will nose his stocking (yes he knows what one is his) till we get it down for him.. he then sticks his head in and pulls out each thing one by one and inspects it :)
