JFF - Mystery Bruises

Okay, I know that I can't be the only one that wakes up with mysterious bruises with no recollection of how they got there! Most of them aren't tender and I usually don't even realize that they are there until I undress to take a shower/bath. Most of them are on my legs, but since I am a very clumsy and very forgetful person I just assume that I bumped my leg on the coffee table and forgot about it.

However, yesterday I woke up with a big very tender bump on the side of my head. Obviously I must have hit it on something relatively hard to get a bump but I have no idea what that could possibly be! I asked my husband if I had bumped my head over the weekend and he said no. We did have sex on Saturday, so maybe I bumped my head on the headboard? Lol

What are your most recent mystery bumps and bruises?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Lol Cheryl, that's why I was wondering how the hell it got there because the side of my head generally isn't touching the head board during sex.

I was tested for anemia because I also have a fainting problem and those tests came back negative.

Jess - The funny thing is, if I get hurt and think 'Oh that's gonna leave a bruise' and then look for the bruise the next day... There's nothing. No mark what-so-ever. Lol

Yup! I did mention it to my doctor and it was one factor he took into consideration for NOT recommending that I take a baby aspirin each day.

my more memorable is my falling asleep with my son on the floor, and in his room is a metal heat grate. Yeah THIS mom totally fell asleep with her forehead on the metal bars.So when I woke up I am like "HOLY BANANAS batman my head hurts" I look at my husband who cant contain the pants ripping laughter. I get a look in the mirror. Looks like I could play tic tac dough on my head. GREAT! its a baseball hat for a week or more now!

Have you been like this your entire life?
I don't generally get bruises that I am unaware of, honestly.

I think I would mention it to my doctor the next time, and just ask if it means anything. Some people bruise more easily than others, but sometimes easily bruising can indicate a medical condition, unless you are elderly, in which case bruising can happen easily. You aren't elderly, are you?

ETA: It has also been linked with anemia.

I get mystery bruises regularly and don't think much of it. They are usually a fabulous shade of deep purple, are nearly perfect circles and are on the backs of my legs. I think I bump into furniture far more than I realize. Also I think the way I get out of my car creates many of them. The best was a series of scratches with small minor bruises around my left ankle recently. I asked my husband what kind of kinkiness we were engaging in but don't recall. He laughed me off after asking to see the scratches. He said if I needed reminding, then he would need to improve his skills for the future. LOL...

I have a scab on my shin. No idea how I got it. I, too, often get mystery wounds/bruises.

I always have bruises that I rarely remember the cause. I am fairly clumsy and will regularly do something and think "oh, that will leave a mark", then bruise, but not remember what I did that caused the pain. I have a glorious one right now across my calf from the dog's tether that is a bit painful (that one hurt enough that I remembered).
My son loves to push in the middle of any bruise and ask if it hurts...he's so cute. Often, I wasn't even aware there was one there until he points it out. I have always bruised easily

haha I could have written this! I woke up not long ago with a gigantic bruise on inner arm. It was at least four inches in diameter! Ugh... The mystery bruises pop up regularly on me.. :-/ In fact, my 9 yr. old got a mystery bruise on her arm over the weekend and she said, "Look mom, I'm turning into you!" lol

I WISH I could bruise when I bang myself.

I take that back. I'd be in turtlenecks and long pants year round.

I almost never bruise. Punched in the face (eye) hard enough to fracture my cheekbone and orbital and I didn't even get a black eye. Sniff. Ditto other broken bones. Much less random bonkings.

When I DO bruise... they're nearly always gone in a couple hours. I take photos to prove them sometimes on bets.

The ONLY time I 'bruise' normally is when I bruise the bone, and a few quirky ones. (Like I fell off my roof banister the other month but God Only Knows how I managed to catch myself on the post and and slid down a post the whole story instead of breaking my neck. It's perfectly symmetrical, STILL there, in the shape of a butterfly, or angel wings. I love it. Seriously... couple months later and it's still there. It's slowly fading, though, which is a sadness.)

I'll occasionally wake up with burns, bruises, etc. following dreams... but my body takes care of those fairly quickly.

My sister, otoh, bruises if you look at her wrong. It's like I got all her platelets or something.
