JFF In What Way Are You Picky/snotty?

I'm not a very snotty person (I don't think), but there are a few things I really turn my nose up at. For me, coffee and tea are my snotty-snotty pleasures. I take 'em pretty seriously. Granted, if I'm a guest and someone offers me a cup of their coffee or tea, I will OF COURSE drink it and be grateful. However, in my own home and when going out for coffee, I have high standards. What are you picky about?

What can I do next?

Men. I am old and tired of Lame-o. I need an Exceptional Man (not PERFECT, exactly, but Great), and I will not settle for less.

(And yeah, I drink coffe and tea back, so it needs to be REALLY GOOD coffee or tea)

I will very rarely eat food other people have prepared. I am a germ freak and if I dont cook it or know the condition is which it was cooked...i.e. cleanliness, freshness or shelf date..I have trouble eating it.

My moms cooking is about the ONLY thing I will still eat.

When we go out to eat I normally end up with some sort of digestion issues...So, I only do it if the food is WORTH it.

People are really offended by it at first. But the ones who know me truly understand the OCD I have behind germs..and stuff.

If we are going somewhere for a BBQ or something like that I will either eat before and bring my own bag of something to snack on...Or I will bring my meal with me.

People are very taken back if I dont have my lunch baggie with me...I have even gotten one of my besties so used to the traveling food, that when I dont have it, he is sad and usually hungry.

I wish it was about HIGH standards for me. I just have had really bad food poisoning and so much of the yuck..that it is how my brain copes with it.

Its been brought to my attention that this is super weird, but I iron my bed sheets and pillow cases. I CANNOT stand a wrinkly bed.

Im also very weird about things matching. Our carseats had match the interior of my car. Can you imagine how bad I am about clothes?

Yes, I am OCD.

I cant believe I am going to say this but here it goes..... I am beyond obsessed with Kraft Dinner and I make it just the way I like it and thats it. I cannot eat it if someone else makes it.
I am also very OCD and totally hear what ppl are saying about others making or prepping food for me. Not for the reasons of my KD but because of the cleanliness and Im sure due to my OCD there are many other things that I am anal about but those are the things that stick out to me

I am picky about how clothes feel. I could never dress my kids in store bought pajamas because the material feels so yucky.

I am picky about food, I do not like processed food, I like homemade, real food! I do not like food that has been sitting around or been in the fridge for more than a day or two.

I am picky about where my food comes from - I do not like to eat at a buffet or food prepared in someones house unless I know that the person making the food is clean and has a clean kitchen. So, if someone at work makes something to share I will not eat it unless I know that they have a clean home. Sometimes patients bring homemade goodies to thank the nurses, some will eat it, but not me - who knows where it came from!

I am picky about my clothes. Not the brand- but the fit. I can try on 13 pair of jeans (bras, shirts, shorts, ect.) and leave without a single one easily because I'm just not happy with them.

I don't think I'm picky really about anything. I mean, I would rather have water than be served a warm soda or a diet soda. But if my food touches. oh well. If I saw someone double-dip the salsa? - I shrug and tell myself it'll help my immune system. If they're all out of my favorite coffee creamer, no big deal. (I would need SOME sort of cream, but milk would do just fine. Does that mean I am picky??)

I'm super picky about socks. I refuse to buy "bag-o-socks". I have to have snug fitting socks that don't lose their shape and hold up wash after wash after wash. I got hooked on this after buying one single pair of socks back in 9th grade w/my own allowance money from the Gap. I've since fell in love with socks from the The Limited too but Gap is my staple. I even buy my kids good socks. I can't stand seeing my kids socks hanging half way off their foot all because they loose their shape throughout the day. Drives me crazy!!

Coffee - Starbucks or I just won't drink any.

Clothes - they have to fit well - and of course, usually that means more expensive

Makeup - I wear expensive makeup - it goes on your FACE for goodness sake!

Anything I put on my face (ie face lotion, under eye cream, etc). I don't use the cheap stuff from Wally World. Again, it is the face!

I am super laid back about so much, but these are my things!

Spelling and grammar! I also like things to match or at least coordinate well, and I am always the person "special ordering" something everywhere we go..add this, none of that, that on the side, etc..I like to have labels or objects facing forward too, OCD! :)

Food...just like Liv B... I will not eat anything that anyone makes. Once in a while I will eat items ppl bring in...but I have to know that they wash their hands when using the bathroom!

I used to live in Colorado, I am from KC...I love BBQ. I was the BBQ Snob when I lived in CO...I couldn't stand the BBQ they have out there. I won't eat cheap immitations of it. And if the sauce is too liquidy (yea my own word) it's not BBQ sauce.

In my kitchen. I do not like other people in it. I love cooking and baking, it's my thing. But I am very perfectionist about it and I have a hard time having other people "helping" me. Most of my friends and loved ones know this about me and leave me alone, but my MIL always needs to "help" which I try to be gracious about, but it stresses me out.

i prefer teaspoons over tablespoons. my purse has to come with lots of slots for credit cards plus a coin section so that i don't have to have a separate wallet. i don't like my food mixing on my plate and i prefer to eat one food at a time. have to eat saltines salt side down (more flavorful). dishes have to be stacked in dishwasher MY way :P i take forever to do the dishes because i have to get off every spot. i hate dishes!i like ketchup and tomato sauce but not tomatos and i only like salsa if it's mixed in with avocados. i like the flavor of onions but i don't like to eat them, unless it's onion rings. i HATE cilantro and if i forget to have them leave it out, i will pick it all out, bit by bit. i could go on... :P

I am picky about everything I drink. If it's wine, it must be good. If it's soda, it must be poured down the side of the glass so it doesn't go flat too quickly. I don't drink anything that tastes flat, whether it's soda or beer. Hot chocolate must be prepared a certain way. My favorite juice we have imported from Europe because it's not sold in the U.S. The BIG one though... My hubby and I are picky about espresso and coffee. It's a long time hobby of ours, so we're picky about every aspect of it..the roast, temperatures, the milk for steaming, the cups we put it in, etc. We like to try out new coffee places, but if we ever get a bad cup, or a bad espresso, we throw it out and waste the money rather than drink it.

I'm picky about so much! But I suppose other aspects of lenience balance me out...:)

I am picky in that, I do not like anyone to dish up my food for me....I don't know why either....but I just like the food a certain way on the plate and I don't like stuff touching, I guess. My hubby tries to be all nice and make me a plate - it really bugs me.

Of course, if it is a friend or something, I am totally gracious about it.

The only thing I'm really snobby about is my knitting supplies. I only knit with bamboo needles and good quality wool or wool blend yarn. I never use acrylic yarn and I can't stand the sound or feel of metal or plastic knitting needles. I'd say I'm a pretty experienced knitter. Most of my friends ask me for advice when they are stumped by a pattern and I've been known to move their work onto my bamboo needles if that are using something different. If I'm teaching someone to knit, I tell them to buy bamboo and hope that I can convert them too!
