have you ever stumbled upon something and just fallen IN LOVE? i have historically been a cover girl girl, only because my mother never wore makeup and no one ever really taught me how to buy/apply it, so i went with "cheap but not TOO cheap". then a girlfriend at work was selling avon and i got their extra last something something because it was on sale and i LOVED it. i had no idea makeup could last like that, or cover like that! well i ran out and she quit selling so i had to rethink things again. i knew i didn't want to go back to cover girl but i really dug in my heels about spending $10 or more on makeup, not to mention would i even get the right color, because spending that much on something like makeup, THEN getting it home and finding out i got the wrong color, was just a disaster, in my eyes.

long story short, after three "scouting" trips to walmart, finally i took the plunge last night and got Maybelleine Super Stay 24 hour, and I LOVE IT!! not only that, i got the EXACT shade i needed. it covers SO great and looks amazing - and yes, i bit the bullet and it was over $10. but so worth it. what other products did you stumble upon, not really knowing what you'd get, and loved?

This isn't makeup, but my girlfriend and I were at DSW shoe warehouse one time. I had like $20 to spend (I was just her shopping buddy that day). Well upon going into the store, the first 10 customers got a $20 gift card to use! I ended up getting a new pair of Nike flip flops and... something I've never found the 'perfect pair' so I've never spent the $ on... a pair of shoes to wear in the river!! The flops were $20 on sale 50% off, and the RIVER SHOES were $68 on clearance for $29, only one pair left in MY SIZE, plus that $20 off coupon!! HELLO GOOD FIND!! I've never owned river shoes before, and now I not only have the perfect pair, but they fit and they're comfy and cute and I LOVE THEM!!

No panty line underwear. It sounds dumb. I hate panty lines though. I will go camando if it means no lines. I hate wearing thongs too. So when I find anywhere that sells the thin panties...I buy them out.

Anything from lush as well. It is all amazing. from their make up to bath bombs...I will never buy store soap, shampoo/conditioner and much more again!!

I always new which were my perfect rainboots but i never thought about shelling that kind of money on a pair of rainboots. my birthday was a month ago and sure enough my lovely husband presented me with a big box with MY PERFECT RAINBOOTS and return receipt. they were the perfect size, perfect color. i was soooo happy and totally caught off guard. he calls me emelda marcos because of the amount of shoes I have yet he went into my closet, looked at what size they were then asked my 6 years old to keep an eye on what i was looking at online. totally crazy but one of those days i went online to see if the boots were on sale (they were not) and one of my kids remembered the name brand. told him, then he went online with her and showed her a bunch of boots from that brand and she pointed the one i was looking at. starts aligned for me and i got my boots. i wore them this past weekend and felt like a million bucks.

Honestly I love Rimmel Matte face powder. It is only $5 and it works great. Good coverage and takes away the shine which is a must for me. I only use it, blush and burt's bees lipshine. It enhances without being obvious.

Check the Sunday paper for Cover Girl and Maybelline coupons. I am sitting on about 5 $1.00 coupons right now that I clipped out of the paper.
Once I fall in love with something, I never stray. I have sensitive skin, so many products are out of my scope for that reason.
Almay Smart Shade makeup is awesome- it's light and blends perfectly (and has SPF 15). I also like Physicians Formula talc free translucent powder and Cover Girl professional mascara blue tube. These are my must haves. Everything else, I experiment with different brands.

I accidentally figured out how to make Thai Peanut Satay. I found a bottle of spicy Peanut Sauce hiding in a nook of the asian section at the grocery store. Took it home and wow- I never have to pay $7 for a tiny appetizer portion again.

I found the perfect car by accident. I researched Altimas and Camrys for a month before I went car shopping. I go to the lot and they asked me to drive a Mazda 6. I never even considered a Mazda. One trip around the corner and I'm in love. The ride kicked ALtima and Camrys butt. The gas mileage is better. The price was MUCH better. So, it was a great find and I couldn't be happier.

I love Estee Lauder waterproof 12 hr foundation and pressed powder. It is $33 each BUT I only buy it when there is a promotion and get other free product. Therefore, I never have to buy masscara, lipstick or makeup remover...Stuff I would buy otherwise.

My car.

I found THE perfect vehicle for me.

I bought an 04, traded it in for another one in 06.

Then, alas, THEY ARE NO LONGER SOLD IN THE US!

There ARE certain advantages to this. If I WERE to buy a new one, I would have to carry a car payment now, whereas for the first 2, I paid them off in 6 months.

I don't REALLY NEED a new car, but I'm not good at taking car of older cars. Also, my resale valued went through the ROOF since they are no longer available. Plus, I am not as happy with the NEW design (available in Europe in Asia) as I am with my 2nd generation design.

However, since this is the ONLY car for me, I was feeling pretty set up, you know?

Now, I'm like a lost toddler in a shopping mall looking for a match and crying about not finding it to anyone who will listen, or no one at all!

Since I do my homework and know what's coming out by every car manufacturer for the next 3 years, I know it's going to be at least 4 years before I can by another.

:(

(I am very bitter about this and whine to Mazda through every available outlet at every available chance, sigh, you'd think they'd send me one just to shut me up!)

I love clean and clear moisturizers! Some of them are a little pricey but they are the only ones that dont make me break out. Also something I discovered by accident (that apparently alot of people know about but I didnt) is using baby shampoo to remove waterproof eye makeup. Its so cheap and I hate spending money on the actual eye makeup remover and this works better!

CeraVe face wash. It cleanses great and never dries out my sensitive skin.

I too am still looking for the perfect lipstick. I hate all lipsticks because they either don't stay or they dry out my lips. I pretty much stick with lightly shaded gloss.

I sure wish I could have good luck with lipstick. I cannot tell you how many shades and brands I have tried over the last year and NONE have satisfied me! I popped into Merle Norman 2 weeks ago and said "I am looking for something that has some staying power, but will NOT dry out my lips or cake up." The woman sold me a liner/color pencil all in one. 3 sips of water and it was basically off and my lips felt so dry. Another 20 bucks down the drain. Congrats on making a great find….they are hard to come by!

Oh wow I want to try that but can't find it in my local drug stores. I love the Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara. I buy mascara a lot and that is the one that I always go back to.
