We have both! I'm very happy to have ditched cable. I thought I'd miss it more, but no, I don't.

I'm thinking about Amazon Prime, too. I'm wondering if it has better movies streaming than Netflix (because, let's face it, Netflix streaming's selection of movies is not always the best...).

Love Netflix and was spoiled with no commercials. Finally got rid of hulu because of the commercials. I also love amazon prime.

I have both! I use Hulu to watch current shows (mostly) and Netflix for past seasons and movies. We get both streaming and disc for Netflix, because that is the only way to get the full catalog.

We don't have a cable package.

We also have Amazon Prime, but I have that for he shipping. The Instant Video part is gravy that came about after. That gets used most when my husband rents (pays for) a movie that is not yet in theaters so he can review it.

I have both and since they have different content. It's like choosing between chocolate cake and cheese cake. Both are equally delicious but sometimes you want one over the other depending on preferance.

I watch Hulu for current or recent tv and Netflix for movies and old tv.

I can't choose between one over the other. They are each different and wonderful.

FYI - we also don't have cable.

We have never used Hulu but have used Netflix for a while now. For what we pay it works for our kids. We are not TV watchers so we don't need the latest or the biggest selection. Plus I like that I can create a kid channel and an adult channel, controlling what's available to my kids.

I am like cheysma. I use both plus Amazon. The Amazon I get for "free" with my prime account - pretty similar to Netflix, but it has video on demand:)
Netflix for series and back episodes and seasons and hulu plus for current tv. We got rid of our DVR and cable, so with Hulu plus I get to watch current episodes like I would with my DVR.

If you boil it down and you are only going to get one - do you want current stuff or replay and access to movies and other stuff. I do love the Netflix original series like OITNB and House of Cards:)

For a real comparison I guess you need to find someone who has used both....We have Netflix streaming (and also still get discs via mail if a movie or show does not stream). We really like it; it's got a wide variety of selection, though the streaming doesn't have nearly as many classic older movies as we would like. But we've discovered some TV series and movies just by browsing and got introduced to some good things.

I have used the "free" Hulu that lets you see certain TV shows within a certain period after their initial broadcast (at least that's how it was last time I used it) and it was OK, but of course it was tough to catch up on any show if the free period had passed. I find that so many shows go to DVD/streaming so quickly now that I don't need to see them in any rush, so I can wait for them to stream.

Netflix streaming is easy to use, but be aware: They do not seem to have any of the Disney/Pixar good stuff, even older ones (no Toy Story, Wall-E, Up, etc.!) so you might want to be sure to find out their kids' offerings if that's important to your children. I'm sure it's probably some issue of Disney wanting to retain rights (and $$$) as much as it can. It isn't an issue for us but just know that those things aren't going to be on there.

We use Netflix and Amazon Prime. We don't have cable.

A few years ago we tried the free trial period of Hulu Plus, but there were a ton of glitches, wheels kept spinning. We almost never have that problem with Netflix. Plus, I found that the few shows I liked to watch that were current weren't even available on Hulu Plus. This all may have changed.

Netflix is awesome for the kids, which is what we usually use it for. Plus, since we are so busy, we tend to be seasons behind on shows, so it works for us. We watched all of Breaking Bad on Netflix, and I'm now watching House of Cards.

Amazon Prime is what we use for all Nickelodeon shows. Netflix used to carry them, but they don't anymore. We can get at least the first one or two seasons of Dora, Blue's Clues, Yo Gabba, etc. with Amazon Prime. I also use their on-demand exercise videos. Netflix doesn't have any.

I've also discovered that if there is something I really want to watch on network TV, I can find it on YouTube. We can stream YouTube to our TV, so that works well too.

I use both, plus Amazon Prime as well. I prefer HuluPlus because I can watch current season episodes, typically the day after they are aired. Netflix doesn't air current season programming, but they do have a great selection of older stuff, plus some really excellent exclusive shows. Amazon Prime is OK for TV, but if I didn't get my moneys worth from the shipping fees I no longer have to pay for, I most likely would cancel it.

Never tried HuluPlus, but we love our Netflix. Our kids don't even watch 'regular' TV anymore really. We love the BBC content we get through Netflix. We subscribe to both instant streaming and mail blu-ray service.

We have Netflix and we love it, lots of old shows and plenty of newer ones, and a ton of kids' shows (My Little Pony is a favorite). I like the convenience of renting a DVD and sending it back in the mail, and getting another one... I don't watch that many shows that I would need Hulu Plus in addition to Netflix, but regular free Hulu has most of the current shows I want to keep up with. We dropped down to the most basic cable, and even with paying for Netflix, it's cheaper than the expanded basic cable we used to have.

I have tried both through free trials and wasn't really impressed with either. Netflix streaming has such a poor selection and even when you do the discs, you can only watch so much in a month while waiting for the mail time back. Didn't seem worth it when I could go to Redbox and get a movie for a dollar. I also am current on the shows I watch, so I didn't need Netflix or Hulu plus to catch up on past seasons. Between the networks' website and Hulu free, I was staying caught up just fine. The good thing about Hulu Plus was that I could watch it on my iPad or stream through my TV.

We use Netflix. We had both for a while but noticed we weren't watching Hulu at all so cancelled. Netflix is more user friendly, it seems. This might sound funny but Hulu Plus has all the choices laid out and it just seems like too many so I think it makes it harder to choose. Netflix will give you more options based on what you watch and then you can always go to their website and look at all of them. It depends what you want to use it for. Hulu is good if you want to catch up on current TV, but you can also do that on the network (except for ABC where you have to wait 8 days). You can try both of them out on a free trial so you might as well do that to help decide.
