Give him my number, I don't have a husband, named Joe or otherwise!
Funny story.

(sorry, in a weird mood today)
Just thought it would be fun to share stories.
So I get calls at work every so often (usually about once a year) from this guy named "Joe". The first time he called me he says "hey, honey where are you?". I thought it was my husband so I respond "duh, you called me on my work phone". He kind of seems thrown off a bit and says "oh, I did! oh, okay..well, I'm just calling to let you know I'm picking up the kids today". Still thinking it's my husband I respond "okay, well..YEAH, it's your turn". I guess his wife must be a lot nicer than me because he responds "oops, you're not my wife, I thought I was calling my wife" and we both laugh and say goodbye.
So he called another time and says "this is Joe" and I say "okay". He doesn't say anything and I'm thinking who the heck is Joe?!? I have an uncle Joe and a step-brother Joe by why would one of them be calling me at work. So he just kind of sits there as if I asked him to call me or something. So I say "I'm sorry but Joe who?" He laughs & says "Joe, YOUR husband". I laugh & say "nope, your not my husband".
So he'll call every now but we're getting quicker at realizing who each other is before we get too far into the who's picking the kids up, etc.
Give him my number, I don't have a husband, named Joe or otherwise!

Thats nothing, apparently my number used to be a black Rico Suave's phone number. You should HEAR the calls I get, at all hours of the morning.
They get all riled up thinking he got a white girlfriend too.
Its a mess!
years ago, a grocery store had a phone number 1 off from ours. We would get calls at all hours, but the frustrating ones were always around 2:00 am from people wanted to place orders for buns and such. I patiently explained to one lady that she had dialed the wrong number and gave her the correct one. She called back 2 more times that night and was angry at me!
And, why at 2:00 am, do you need to order buns???
I had a wrong number call once that turned into a hot date. lol
And also, after my divorce when I started dating, I was talking to several guys at once. One told me he'd call me around 10pm that night, after work. So the phone rings and we are chatting for about an hour. Then my phone rings really late, I pick it up and he's all, so sorry I called late, I got hung up at work. HUH???? Who the heck was I talking to if it wasn't him???? Ended up, it was another guy that happened to call at that time and since they were all new to me, I didn't know the difference. lolololol I told him I thought he did call and spent an hour talking to someone else when I thought it was him. We had a good laugh about that.
I've had two. One was in college. I was hanging out with a guy named "Mike". I then met another guy and his name was "Mike". Well second "Mike" called and I thought it was first "Mike". We still laugh about it today because I married second "Mike"!!!
Our number in Kentucky was one digit off the local radio station. GRRR!! We would get phone calls night and day. Finally, around 2:00 a.m. I had a call and when I answered the person said "did I win"? I said "you bet come on down" and hung up. The next day I called AT&T and changed our number!
Have a great day!
oh, that's too funny!
no, i've never had quite such a fun wrong number!

I had a strange call many years ago. My friend, Sue, who has been my friend for over 20 years, came over that day. We spent the whole day together and then she left to go home. So, an hour later, I get a call from her (thought it was her) and we proceed to have a conversation for about 10 minutes. I finally was getting a little frustrated with all her questions because we talked about all these things earlier in the day, and I realized that this was not Sue. The funny thing is the lady that called--her name was Sue too!. She even sounded like the Sue I knew.
How weird is that?
Years ago I called a boyfriend very early one morning to wake him up.
Seems I was not awake enough and I dialed the wrong number.
While apologizing profusely the male on the other end said "Please stay on the phone with me until I am fully awake, else I will sleep through the alarm".
So I did, and we laughed about it.
Yeah, he called me a few days later just to chat. No, I never met him.
But it was amusing.
Tell Joe "Hi" !
There are 3, count them, 3 people in my life that I've had 5 MINUTE conversations with before we realized that we weren't who we thought we were. The first one was in college. The second two were about 10 years ago or so. The conversations were SO normal, too! We could hardly believe it when we figured it out! Oh, and they were all total strangers!
It's very funny to think about!
Dawn
When I got my first phone, within the first day or so, I started getting strange calls and texts. I got things like...come meet me behind the theatre at 4pm or can i come over tonight? etc. Then the phone would ring as the caller would ask to come have a good time with Starla----I was like you have the wrong number. They didn't get it and would still call and say well do you have anyone else??? Sounds like to me she was a call girl and had an escort service. I went and paid to have a different phone number after that!!! It was creepy and always late at night or middle of the night.
I put off getting a cell phone until after everyone else in the world had one (or so it seemed). After 9-11-2001, when I saw people getting in touch with their loved ones when they couldn't have done it otherwise, I started thinking again and decided it would be good to have one after all. As soon as I got my phone number, I started getting calls for Howard, at the rate of at least two or three per week. At first it was quite annoying, both to me and to the callers. But it went on for two or three years, getting funnier all the time! I finally had to laugh every time someone asked for the man. I had no idea (still don't) who Howard was, but my imagination figured he must have owed all those callers money, so he dropped out of sight and left his phone number behind!
I've had several over the years but nothing for some time now. There have been strange ones, creepy ones, funny ones, mysterious ones and frustrating ones and a few threatening scary ones.
Once years ago, I kept getting calls one after the other where this old lady kept calling and she's say. "Lorriane is that you, put Martha on the phone." I'd say I'm sorry you have the wrong #. She'd call again and I'd be polite again. Again again again. Then she started getting nasty with me. she'd say, "I know Martha is there put her on the phone I want to speak to her now, do you have her tied up." Then it got worse, she'd accuse me right out of keeping Martha tied up and hidden away and she'd call the police if I didn't get Martha. This went on for quite some time. It was very strange. - much later I figured it was a prank, but never really sure.
I've had many strange ones, some sound impossible also have had a lot of funny ones.
Here's another that comes to mind (it's a little different but not funny or impossible like) I use to get these calls on a semi-regular basis that started a couple years after my mother died. A woman would call and ask for C. and I'd say this is C. and she'd start talking to me. I'd realize she had the wrong C., so I'd say so. Then it happened again and I would ask who is calling and she would say, "this is her mother." Well, it so threw me aback that I would just say you have the wrong # and too she even sounded like about the age of my mother and somewhat like her voice. It happened several times but other people answered the phone instead of me and she'd always say, this is her mother. Finally my daughter answered the phone one time and when she asked for me, I asked her to ask who's calling and the woman said it again. My daughter said to her you have the wrong C., C.'s mother is dead. She never called again, guess she made sure to get the dialing right after that.
