obsessed with boobies?
My daughter is 5 and she says she likes to squish my boobs. I am sure she has seen her dad doing it, he is a boob guy. This was funny when she was young, at least my hubby thought so. I remember my nephew doing this to my sister, but he was about 2 or 3.
Is my kid a weirdo?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone. Some of those stories are funny. My daughter saw the bra section in a department store and said "wow look at all those new boobies". I have talked to her and let her know that she needs to stop, but I don't get mad about it. I remind her that one day she will have kids and they will do it to her too.

My son is 5.
He likes to squish them too or bop them around.
Good grief.
He laughs. Thinks its funny, mainly because it irks me.
I laugh.
No biggie.

Yes! My kids are 4 and 2 and they are both obsessed! I have a boy and a girl and they seem to be equally intrigued. My daughter will try and slap mine around if I bend over near her! Someday she'll understand why this is so annoying! ;)

My uncle told a joke in which the punchline was "boo-bees" and when everyone laughed, my brother (then 3 years old) started laughing harder than anyone in the room. When my uncle asked him if he even knew what boobies were, my brother said, "Sure, those are the things that hang on mom's stomach!" My mother was mortified, but everyone else got a good laugh in!

Hahahaha...my son was about 2 and I was holding him on one hip and using the other hand to put groceries on the belt for checkout. He was facing away from me, smiling at the lady behind us in line. He kept squirming and laughing out loud and she was giggling so I assumed that she was just entertaining him until I was finished. When I turned around, he was reaching forward and grabbing her chest, and she was laughing so hard. I was initially mortified, but thankfully the woman told me..."he's the cutest thing....must be a boob man!"

She is not "weird"...as you say..she is just copying what she sees her Dad doing!! I think it may be time to teach both of them a bit of a lesson about respecting other peoples' bodies...appropriate touches etc. I don't mean that your husband should not enjoy you and your body but he might think a little about toning it down a bit around his obviously impressionable daughter.
I nursed all of my children...and both of my daughters are currently nursing their children...and we have all had to teach them about being respectful and being willing to be discreet when nursing in public. It is never too young to start teaching a child how to be considerate of others.

Hmmm, I guess I am a bit weirded about by the idea of my kids seeing my hubby touching my breasts. I don't think your daughter is a weirdo, but hubby might be to do it in front of her ;-) Just kidding. I don't think he is weird either, but probably needs to be more aware of who is around when he's copping a feel.

Every kid I've ever known. Including kids raised by gay men.

Ditto HAIR. The longer the better. And eyeballs when they're infants and toddlers. And for some reason, kids' knees tend to always land in Dad's groin. Every dad I've ever met, it's amazing that they don't sing soprano.

Well my 3 year old will still stick his hand down my shirt right in my boob crack whenever he's sad or tired. I don't think he remembers nursing at all, but maybe it's some comforting instinct that he'll keep with him for a bit. My one year old is still nursing so she's obviously a big boob fan also...she FLIPS out when i'm getting dressed and put a bra on. Like i'm hiding them from her or something...i think your daughter's normal :)

After seeing pics of animals feeding their young, my daughter has actually pretended to nurse on me for fun, and she's five. She was definitely deriving comfort from it.

My kids, 5 and 3 are very "handsy"...I am nursing their baby brother though so my boobs are out there...but no I don't think it's wierd...she will grow into her own pair one day so I would think a little exploration is normal...not to mention in many ways she is closer to a baby than grown and mom's arms and by extension their boobs (c'mon where do kids lay their heads when you are holding them) are a comfortable place for her.

I think it's an instinct kind of thing. When you hold a new baby, their head is right there, they're warm, they're comfortable, they're food. As they get older, boobs are just so..out there. If you think about it they are kind of funny. Every now and then even I "boop" them and chuckle as I watch them jiggle.

Is we walk past bras, boobie talk, if we see a baby, they want to know if the baby drinks from the mommys boobies, my 3 year old will touch myboobies, and try to squeeze them, I have to tell her to stop, please, don't let them see my boobies. Yep, alot of boobie talk going on here..

Not wierd - my three are as well.
My six year old son is getting over it now though (thankfully!)
My three year old talks about when she is grown up & gets boobs. Great lead in for a talk about how bodies change!
My one year old still nurses so of course she's obsessed :-)

Not a weirdo, unless mine is too. She was almost 5 when she pointed across the table at my chest (in response to a question about how much she had grown or something totally innocuous) and said "Not as big as THOSE things." LOL
She also used to come up to me and squeeze! She wasn't breast fed long enough to have any attachment to them, and she is the youngest so she never saw me feeding any other babies. But she thought it was the funniest thing. She'd get this goofy little grin on her face and reach up and squeeze! Sometimes in public!
I'd almost forgotten until I read your post.. tee hee.
She doesn't do that anymore. Your child will outgrow it too. :)

I agree with Kansas Mom... she's not weird. She's imitating Daddy! I'm not one to freak out about this kid of stuff, but I did teach my son that boobs are part of a woman's privates. I just wanted him to know that it's not exactly okay to grab them for when he attends school. Since education is a female dominated profession, I didn't want to get a call that he grabbed his teacher!

Anyway, just explain it to her, don't make it a huge deal. Good luck w/your silly little girl!! :-)
