Okay, I have yet to see a picture or meet a newborn that has yet to look like either an Alien or an Old Man the first few months of life - so what was it for you Alien or Old Man?

My only was Old Man all the way - small wrinkly head with puffy eyes that could hardly stay open.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Oh my! Some of these descriptions are totally funny! I love hearing how parents describe their kids when they are being real about it. I have yet to find a baby that has not been a little "odd" looking the first week or so - I would however LOVE to see a pic of the 6mo newborn, sounds like you have a good oven mama!

LOL... Neither. My son was born looking like a 6mo old. In fact, that's what the hospital called him 'the 6mo newborn'.

He was 10lb, 23.5 inches long, had full control of his head and upper body (dude had a 'braided' back, and little 6pack), full head of hair, and completely clear eyes and would make eye contact and *smile* from 5 feet away. Half the hospital came to see him.

But his first ultrasound at 11 weeks he looked like an alien CAT!

I don't think that of newborns, most look like cute babies to me.

However...the new 3D ultrasound pics...now that's another story...ALL of those freak me out...they look like aliens. I'm so glad those weren't available when I was pregnant, I think it would have stressed me out that I was going to have a deformed baby!

My boy looked like Muhamed Ali after a fight. He was bruised, swollen, black and blue. 1st thing I thought was he looked like a prize fighter.

My son looked like he went a couple of rounds with Mike Tyson...and lost. Luckily, he is a very handsome 14 yr old now.

My oldest daughter was the spitting image of my mother. Yeah. I gave birth to my MOTHER. Creepy.

My youngest daughter looked like an old man. Specifically, my GREAT-GRANDFATHER - a rather large German fellow.

Both girls look just fine now...actually, they're pretty darn cute!

I had a friend and her newborn looked like a baby bird. Even she thought so. Mine were C-section babies and so they were born cute.

My oldest and youngest didn't look old or alien at all. My middle one had the old man look for a few weeks, but is beyond handsome now...and has been since a few weeks old.

I was totally an old man, They should have given me a cigar - I would have looked like I just lost a poker game.
My daughter was neither, but I'm biased. :)

When my little one was born they put him on my belly and the first thing that came to mind was "wow, this looks and feels like they put a turkey on my belly."

first daughter was def Alien. Big eyes, open at very moment of birth, but a head that couldnt support that melon. EEK
Second daughter was a mix in between. She had craniosynostosis (premature skull fusion) so we all thought her nose was broken during the birth. Though we realized later it was just that her skull was asymmetric.

Third was an old man, wrinkly old man.

ha my daughter looked like niether...everyone (EXCEPT M.) at the hospital and family kept saying they never met a baby that looked like her...she was alert, no wrinkles, layer of hair that was perfect...BUT after they put those drops in her eyes I thought she looked like a lunatic or like she was defective...I also was drugged up (got the epidural 20 minutes before her and it didn't work for pain and J. made M. loopy since I never took more than alieve before) and when they took her to clean her up I thought she had 3 toes on each foot

None, I gave birth to two 9 pound babies and 21 inches long. They both had full head of hair and cute as a button. Even the nurses thought my babies were so cute.

Alien at first...then totally old man. She had a bit of a pointy head at first. Then when her hair started growing, it grew back to front. She looked like she had a receding hair line. I am completely serious, I was SO glad when it finally grew in! Her hair still goes every which way.
