There are a few on-line shops that I've seen...check out www.etsy.com, it's a great place to sell handmade goods and I don't think there is a fee. My friend sells kids accessories, like ribbons, hats and necklaces that she makes.
You can try BISI (BuyItSellIt). It is the cheapest I found in the market. Great owner who is always there to help. Very quick response to questions and problems. BISI also has the best forum group I've found. Very helpful bunch and sellers (a lot of them are stay-at-home-moms like me). You'll like it. It is FREE if you have less than 10 products (and still with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited categories). As your business grow, you can then move into the paid tier which is only at $9.95 per month but you can have as many products as you want. It is super easy. Everything is ready, including very nice choices of templates (even for the free stores). All you have to do is to sign up and load up your products. If you need to see it in action, please visit my store genesisartsandbooks dot com. Roll down my home page and you will see the link at the bottom left side. By the way, BISI automatically submits your products to Google. A lot of sellers found their products listed in Google within 24 hours of their putting them up. This is really important because you can have the best of products but if people can't find you, it is of no use. I actually own 2 web sites. One with BISI and another with Shoppal ($19.95 / month and limited products allowed). I had that one for a long time now and so am reluctant to move but had I heard of BISI first, I would have gone there first. So I'll definitely recommend BISI. Email me if you still have questions or have difficulties setting up your store.
- Farmers Markets
- Art fairs (check at the art dept. at your local CC or U...they have the full list of them)
- Craigslist
- Your own website
Farmers markets, flea markets, word of mouth - tell all of your friends! Website with photo's, prices, etc.. always have your web address on your email signature so someone can just click on it. Offer to host free parties - baby showers, bridal showers, Mom's night outs..., make up flyers and hand them out at the park/put on windshields. Go in to places like Noonan Swim School, Gyms, Gymnastic schools, My Gym - ANY PLACE WHERE PARENTS TAKE THEIR KIDS - and leave flyers/bus. cards. Most of these places have a "community board" or something similar. Hope that helps! If you have a website already, I'd love to see your stuff!

Hi AC,
Here in Vegas we have Arts & Craft shows in small venues like the YMCA and Public Library. We have someone who holds them. Perhaps if you contact a farmers market you will find some contacts. Here they are are friends and share shows. I feel you sell more in person, with the touch it, see it, feel it thing. Try googling Arts & Craft shows in your area.
Best of luck.
Sometimes you can find craft or home shows that aren't too expensive to rent a table at. Also this time of year there are farmers markets and the tables are less than $50. I sell Scentsy wickless candles and doing a show, festival, or farmers market really helps get your name out there. Good luck! Dana
