I haven't bothered to look at the TV since Lost ended. :(
I may never recover.
(Well, to be honest, I can watch America's Home Videos around the clock and never get tire of it!)

I love the show, I think it is hilarious. Would I want my kids watching it - no. If they did watch it, I would use it as a discussion starter - soooo many topics can come out of just one show LOL!

Oh, and my hubby and I use some of the lingo now - DTF tonight? haha!!

I watch it have since the first episode I can't believe people act this way,it is funny to see how they act all I do is get my laughs in, plus alot of it since it is on TV has to be written...However they are on it & were not they were asked to come back because it is popular for whatever reason a person watches the show...I can't remember the last time I went into a bar or a dance club but I do remember that there are plenty of people who act like this in public & I still laugh at them...Don't watch it if you don't like it.

Jersey Shore is so popular because it is an absolute trainwreck!! I have watched every single episode with my jaw open because it is completely 180 degrees away from my life. I'm a 44 year old science geek in sales, my daughter is off to college next year and is just reinforcement of "what NOT to do"!! We still love to read, go to movies and travel...but we love it.

I'm still trying to figure out why my husband is so into "Wipeout"!

Pure trash! And I am a sucker for a good reality show ; Bachelor, Teen Mom, Etc., but watching adults become famous for being skanks, hmmm. What must their parents think? They must be proud.

I watch it... I like it b/c it's funny, and it's a lifestyle I will never live (or want to), the unknown is always fascinating. Just because I watch it doesn't mean I condone their behavior.

I highly doubt "the downfall of America" can be blamed by the Jersey Shore. lol

Its a trainwreck haha its hard not to watch.It gives me a laugh..Maybe its bc im from the north that i enjoy it but we are loud n say what we mean.

Well, I am embarrassed to admit that I love that show. In part becuase I live close to the shore towns that are featured on the show, and the show really is a reflection of some of what goes on around here come summer. I find it interesting to see it all played out on TV.

But, to me, I don't know...I don't take offense to this or any similarly-themed show. I could never be on a reality show, even if I tried to be, becuase I am just too normal and everyday. Reality shows pick out the more extreme personalities and highlight more extreme behaviors, specifically to get that "visceral" reaction out of the viewer. That reaction is what will get a person to return to watch it over and over again -- or at least catch a show or two here or there, which helps too. I take it for what it it is, and I allow myself to indulge in the craziness and judgement of it all -- for me it is a great distraction from my actual life, which is nothing like Jersey Shore. So, in the end, the show gives me exactly what I want out of it -- laughs, some OMG moments, some time to space out and be glad that this is not what my real life is like.

I do agree that it is highly inappropriate for teenagers -- but I am also hoping that responsible parents are also discussing with their children what it and what is not appropriate. The show's only goal is to make money; not to be a moral compass.

Can anyone tell me why someone lets their tweens and teens watch the show? Isn't it just teaching them how to party and have sex? I know many who let their kids watch it, it really makes me sad to know that in a few short years they will be mimicing them, if they're not already. :(

I will never understand why most of the current tv shows are popular. Jersey Shore, all the housewives shows, the toddler pagent ones, bachelor and on and on and on. I think they are all useless. No one should condone the way those people act. And yet we keep making them and giving these morons money for it.
It seriously bugs the hell out of me.

When you get the answer let me know. It's even targeted to my generation I think and I can't stand to watch them. They are obnoxious drunks and the guys do nothing but talk about women like they are there for there sexual pleasures and nothing more, while the women are catty and fighting over absolutely nothing, making us look like nothing more but drama queens. I can't stand it. I have friends who love it and can't really explain to me why.

I watch it every once in a while when it's on. My world doesn't revolve around it. I don't know why people get hooked onto it...but they do. Most of the people that I know that watch it think it's hilarious or they just make fun of it.

I'm with you! Totally repulsive! But, I will tell you that I get a huge kick out of the Saturday Night Live sketches of Snookie. The guy who plays her is a genius.

I have been guilty of watching the real world when I was younger, but now I'd probably go insane. It's a maturity thing I think or a fascination of drama because maybe the person watching just can't believe people act that way. From the 15 minutes I've seen where they are arguing in some salon I just laughed and turned the channel, because in my neighborhood some girl wouldn't call you a c**t and still be standing.

i agree with AG. im 21 and i LOVE jersey shore. i definitely think its bc of the drama. when i watch an episode and theres no drama or aguing in it, i actually get dissapointed lol. but yes i totally agree that it is popular bc of the fighting and w/e. but i am italian and i also think it degrades the italian ways, they make it look terrible when its not always like that, only the spoiled rotten lifestyles are like that.

I have never watched the show so I really can not comment on it too much but from what I know I think it is not up my alley nor would I want my kids to watch it. I get that it is driven by the sex,cheating, trashy clothes and ripped abs, not to mention the heavy drinking and fights but kids do not realize that even though this is "reality tv" it is not what MOST REAL people do and it does set a poor example. The last MTV show like this I watched as The Real World about 10 years ago before the focus turned to sex.

But I do love Jerseylicious and Jersey Couture ... simmilar drama and jersey attitude but in a more fun and less hurtful way.
