Since it has been many years since I have (successfully) done IVF, I am not familiar with this new trend. Having been through it more than once, the stress factor is huge without the added tension of being in another country.
I'm just wondering if any mama's out there would be willing to write and tell me their experiences of going out of the country to get IVF? My husband and I are considering this. He is more concerned than I.
If you have done this, could you tell me who you worked with specifically as there seems to be a lot of companies out there that do this.
Thanks so much!!

I don't know anyone personally who's done this overseas but if you do your homework, research the reliability of the company, I think it will be alright.
Medical tourism has become huge.
I really think it's growth/popularity is a barometer which shows just how bad our health care system (or lack of one) has become.
A heart valve transplant in the USA can cost $200,000 and in India it is $10,000 (including the airfare and accommodations).
It's the same for many other procedures.
You can PM me. I am at this moment nursing my 4 month old son who was concieved via IVF abroad. Have you been on the inspire/resolve infertility website? There are discussion boards regarding many infertility issues -and one specifically for those traveling abroad for IVF.
We had an extremely positive experience. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind traveling. I have a lot of respect for the clinic we worked with, More so than I have for the two we worked with here. We were actually grateful for the opportunity to travel. One of the most positive experiences of my life, really - to have the opportunity to have another child , of course, -and the process was positve as well.
I know someone who considered doing this in Israel. She ended up doing IVF in the U.S., which was good, because on the day of implantation, something was wrong and she had to wait a few months and try again. If she'd been out of the country, all that money to travel would have been wasted. If it all works out, though, it sure would save a lot of money!
