I was considering an IUD, which is not covered by my insurance (Catholic healthcare organization!) and my OB/GYN referred me to the manufacturer. At that time, they had some sort of program to help with the cost of the IUD if your insurance didn't cover it. I believe it only covered the device, not the insertion or office fees. You should ask your doc's office or go to the Mirena website. I eventually opted for the NuvaRing, as my OB/GYN would give me free samples for 6 months at a time. Hubs had the "big V" in August, so now I'm out of the birth control business!
