So What Happened?

So i went to my ob/gyn today and he checked everything out he could today. I have an ultrasound for next wednesday to see if it is still placed in the right spot or needs to be taken out. If it is placed alright he want to do birth control to help the bleeding. I will update you next wednesday. Thank you for all the advice and knowledge you have gave me.

I have an IUD. And it sounds like yours is not placed properly. You should call your doctor. Once I got past the constant bleeding for 3 months, I love my IUD and I don't even notice it anymore. Not mention that time of the month is almost nonexistant now. Good luck to you.

I would go back to your dr but I would have it taken out. 2 of my family members have developed serious infections with the IUD. Good luck.

Go to your gynecologist and tell him what happened. It could be another problem because I had a great experience with the IUD. Let me know what happened.

hello J. looks like you got some good advice. do you have the paraguard or the mirena? i got the paraguard because of the hormone issue and blood clots run in my family. I to have really bad cramping and the pain is bad enough that i almost got it out. the np said it was placed properly and gave me vicodin. vicodin helps but the problem is still there just not as apparent. go back to the doc cause sometimes the iud also can contribute to cysts on the ovaries which cause a lot of extra unecessary pain. you will have cramping and bleeding sometimes for 6-8 months at least i have and they say nothing is wrong it sometimes takes your body awhile to adjust.

I had the IUD, and had to have it taken out. First off, I had to go in twice, because the first time, the doctor poked a hole in my uterus, and I had to wait until it healed, before I could get it put back in. Then I was bleeding for about a month, it had started to just spot towards the end of the month. But I only cramped the days that I had it put it in. Then I started to gain alot of weight really quickly, I mean, it was like overnight. they say the IUD doesn't make you gain weight, but I believe it does, because it happened to the rest of my family too. Every time that my husband and I had intercourse, it was very painful, and he started to feel bad that it was hurting me, so there was long time that we didn't have intercourse, because it was just too painful. So I had it taken out, and the doctor that took it out (it was a different doctor that put it in), told me that it was put in wrong, and that I had an infection from the IUD, due to it being put in wrong. I hate the IUD. Some members in my family cannot have chidren anymore, because the same thing happened to them. I don't want to scare you, but I would definately get it checked out immediatly, just because it could be dangerous.
