I would also say it is dry itchy winter skin. I have had good luck with cocoa butter. Try putting some type of lotion on as soon as you are done shaving to see if that helps.
I can't figure out why my legs have started to itch. It started a few months ago. I tried switching detergent to see if it started bothering me. I switched razor brands. I try different creams to stop the itching. It definitely bothers me the most when i shave. They itch worst at night because I'm busy all day and it's when i sit still I really notice it. I itch so hard my skin gets puffy. I can't help it! Please help why am I itching and what can help relieve the itching?

I agree. It's probably the temp difference causing dry sensitive skin. You can try to use regular conditioner as shaving lotion. And then lube up with some Aveeno - either oil in the shower or lotion afterwards.
My husband and I both get this in the winter. Aquaphor or Aveeno help.
Probably winter itch caused by the drier air. The best lotion I have found to counteract it is Aveeno's baby lotion for eczema.
I have the same itchy leg problems, but I have noticed mine starts when it gets cold, & ends once it warms up.
My son has the same problem too....he scratches so hard he breaks the skin sometimes.
To relieve our problem, we just apply lotion after we shower. Sometimes I have to put extra lotion on him when he's going to bed again to help with the night time scratches. Hope this helps.
Maybe taking an aveeno oatmeal bath will help a little? I itch terrible in the winter too...not fun!
probably scabies then, you need a cream to get rid of it - it's easy to catch
I'd see a dermatologist to rule out anything serious. I had a relative with the same symptoms and they ended up having a very serious condition.. If its nothing other than the cooler weather drying out your skin, I'd try rubbing some olive oil into your skin after a shower (or try coconut oil).
You seem to have covered the obvious so I just want to put something else out there. Don't panic but other than the obvious seasonal dry skin, you may want to check your blood sugar. My husband was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic and when his sugar spikes he feels it in his legs....if it is that, the sooner you catch it, the better.
God bless,
M.
When I itch in the winter, usually it's dry skin.
If I exfoliate (I like using some scrubby gloves and a moisturizing soap) and then apply an unscented hypoallergenic lotion after I dry off then the itch goes away.
You can also try double rinsing your laundry when you wash the sheets to make sure all the detergent residue is gone.
Diet. Itching is, well, diet. Check out Adele Davis.
best, k
You may be allergic to something, foods, perhaps. You may have pets that carry in fleas...
Hope this helps...
I like Aveeno products and Gold Bond lotion for really dry, itchy skin.
Do you have scabies? These are little mites that burrow under the skin.
