S.S.
haha you must be petite! I haven't bought children's clothes but I buy myself happy meals all the time. :)
I have. :( I bought a sundress in the kids section one time and it was cute! I often buy kids shoes for myself, like flats, they are so much cheaper!
I bought my 6 year a shirt that I was thinking she could wear to her school Christmas party and probably Christmas Eve. I just took it out of the bag and held it up to myself and was like hmmm, If I bought myself a large it would probably fit and then we could match! Ridiculous, I know! But Im half tempted to get one for myself. Its suuuper cute!
I hope Im not the only one that does this....
Unfortunately for me, I have always had the body of a 13 year old, well, since I was 13. :)
Trust me, I have longed to some big T&A, but when I do gain weight, that is the LAST place it goes. :( Oh well.
Its funny that a lot of you mentioned Gap kids, because that is exactly what I was talking about! lol. I seriously tried on a really cute "womans" dress there and an x small was too big on me, specially in the bubbies. :( I thought the kids clothes would do me wonders!!
haha you must be petite! I haven't bought children's clothes but I buy myself happy meals all the time. :)
JUST today!!!
This isn't the first time I've done this. JCPenney often has good sales on boys sweatshirts for NFL teams....so I buy an XL and I'm good to go, at half the cost! Woohoo! :)
I was 5'11" when I was eleven years old and kept growing! It was difficult to buy kid's clothes when I was a kid! Fortunately I developed the breasts and booty so all is well.
Go ahead and buy it if you can, I imagine you would save so much money.
Yep!
I dress like a 12yo boy.
I'm 6'1 tall and quad D (Hcups)... so not even the women's clothes fit from this country (I do my girly shopping in the UK/ from UK sites), much less the girls... but teen boy clothes? So happening. LOL esp with the whole v-neck thing that's happening right now. Because their shirts are long enough to cover T&A (tits and ABs) :D No one needs to see my navel, and women's shirts show 6 bloody INCHES of my abs. Nope. Huh-uh. Wouldn't be prudent.
There is no way that my curvy figure would ever fit into clothes made for children! When I was just out of high school I could squeeze into XL kids tshits, but my chest kept on growing well into my 20's. I wear a size 6 shoe, which is a 4 in boys, which is how I buy my chucks!
awww your just braging. :) skinny minnie
I did buy my teenage daughter a D Wade Heat jersey in the youth section. Youth jerseys fit like a form fitting tshirt on her. So adorable.
Some of my football jerseys are the bigger kids sizes but they're JERSEYS so don't be impressed.
I did freak my four year old son out when I showed at summer school on June 24th with a "Cars 2" t-shirt that I found at Target in the boy's section. We were stylin' in our "Cars" gear for the first of eight times we went and saw that movie last summer. He was very excited that MOM had a shirt with Lighting McQueen and Francesco. It was as close as we're EVER going to get to walking the 'red carpet' at a movie premier...
I can wear XXL in Gap kids :)
I could not fit into kids clothes even if I tried ... and in my opinion they are made and labled kids clothes for a reason. Some shoes I can understand there is a larger selection of flats available, but over all, no, I just do not get it.
I cant even wear juniors anymore. No where near enough boob room :(
HAHAHA Oh no. Alas, My clothes come from the Woman's Section.
My best friend can though and does. She and her 13 yo daughter wear the same size. My 10 yo is larger than the two of them.
Oh, no! Kid clothes do not fit this "short stack" body!
I would if I could wear them....I'll just have to settle for the awesome Jones of New York deal I got online for 75% off and free shipping. Nice casual sport jacket :)
lol......i did when i was a teenager and i wanted to show off my midriff , little baby tees. I consider myself lucky to still shop in junior most times these days.
I totally used to do this. Especially for suits in the Juniors section of the high end stores. But alas, several children later and well into my 40's, I don't look the same in those clothes anymore.
Sad, since I can still get in the same size as always, and still have the same weight and measurements as always, but it seems things have "shifted" in certain places after having kids and my clothes lay on me differently now. The clothes tend to look a little too "cheesy" because I now have too much cleavage and the hemlines tend to be alot shorter than on adult clothing. If I were to wear that stuff now, I think I'd look a little too Jersey Shore. :) (Talking about the gals on the show, no insult to those in Jersey!)
Since those clothes are made for nubile girls with no T or A yet, I guess my days of wearing Junior wear is now over. LOL! I sure miss saving money that way though. I do still get shoes (athletic and sporty stuff) in the boys department though and sometimes the girls too. :)
Now I sew, so I can make things the way I want.
I'm too big for kids' clothes, but I used to buy kids' shoes because they were so much cheaper for the same shoe. Now, since my feet got bigger with having kids, I can't do that anymore. Bummer.
I got a great deal on a winter coat and ski pants at REI this year because I realized their kid sizes fit me. I bought my 9 year-old a coat and pants in size L and mine in size XL! (She's going to outgrow me by a mile...)
Pre kids yes...but now I have a really long torso so girls tops don't fit and I'm 5'10 so there's no way pants/shorts/skirts would fit :(
Although my silly hubby still mixes up my clothes with my 7 year old daughters when he does laundry
yes. it was awesome when stella mccartney did a line of clothes for gap kids. sigh.
I out grew "kids" sizes when I was like 10 LOL So no I don't.
However, I have to say that even if I COULD I probably wouldn't for most stuff. Maybe basic tees or something like that ... but other wise no. Mostly because the style itself is too "young" for me. I personally wouldn't want to wear stuff designed for a 12-15 year old ... just not adult enough for me.
But hey ... if you like it and it fits properly ... go for it :)
I get boy's shoes all the time! They are cheaper than women's and pretty much the same thing. LOL I have a couple of boy's hooded sweatshirts.
My husband always puts my son's shirts in my closet and mine in his closet. I couldn't even fit in his shirts, he's 7! But I guess they are close to the size of mine. It also happens with socks.
Yes I do. A boys XL shirt is the same size as a men's medium or a ladies large or a juniors XL(or XXL sometimes if it's cut tighter). I mostly only buy shirts as the pants don't work because I can not wear tiny little hip huggers. I didn't like them when I could wear them and I dislike them even more now. My husband also fits a boys XL so we have dressed the entire family in matching t-shirts when we've gone places. One of our favorite pictures is all of us at Legoland all wearing matching Lego Star Wars shirts we all bought together. I like shirts from the Jrs section all the time. I hate shirts "coming up under my chin".
I would totally get it if it looked good on me!
I always buy kids sneakers - so much cheaper! I just recently started to be able to fit in kids clothes and I do buy a lot of kids sized shirts. The length, especially sleeves just fit better.
I'm a short woman and sometimes the XL girls' clothes fit me. Yes, I buy things if it won't make me look like I'm trying to be 15.
I do! I too have the body of a 12 yr old. But sometimes the girls' clothing is too small in the arms. Devastating that it's not the bust area! Haha!
But my favorite buy was kid ski boots. Granted, they were bright turquoise, but they were half the price of adult ones! Woohoo!
You should totally buy the shirt.
Nope! I am 6 ft tall and a sz 6, with a size 9 shoe-WAAAAAAY too big for kids section:) My mother in law is tiny though and sometimes gets stuff from the kids section, so do 2 of my petite besties. I haven't been able to shop in the kids section since I was 9.
NEVER, I'm a big girl and no way possible could I ever fit into kids clothes... I don't see a problem with it, well for the most part.. I guess if you were trying to look like a 15 year old and your 45, then maybe there could be other issues... My sister has small feet and often find good buys in the kids sections of shoes...
Yes. I wear my son's sweatshirts all the time, so often they are usually in my closet now. Sometimes I buy shirts/shorts in the kids department because they're cheaper, and I always buy tennis shoes in the kids department. I'm small.
Definitely shoes! I'm a 6, and athletic shoes like sketchers, new balance, nike look very similar in girls and womens, but their always cheaper. I was looking at some flats at Target in the little girls area yesterday. I might go back and get them!
I actually have a fairly small frame and up until a few years ago when I turned 50 and started gaining a bit of weight, had better luck finding clothes that fit right in the Junior Department. I also remember when my own daughter was 11 she and I wore the same size so we wore each other's clothes. She outgrew me so it didn't last long, but it was fun for while! My granddaughter is almost my size now so we'll be sharing clothes for a bit in the not too distant future!
I had a friend (4'10" maybe and less than 100 lb) who routinely shopped at Gap Kids for her casual clothes.
I have several girls 14/16 long sleeve T's that I got off the clearance rack at Target. Hey, whatever works!
Yes! Boys t-shirts are so much cheaper!!!!!
Yes. I used to wear little boys levis all the time, they fit my frame well.
Yes, I still buy in jr dept if something is really cute.
I do have to accomodate my perky 34DD's so sometimes it is not so easy but I do have to get the smaller sized jeans. I am 5'5" , size 0-2 depending on who makes the clothes.
FYI... I was shopping with my daughter at Macy's for a dress for her. She found a size 0 dress and needed some type of coat. She found a beautiful fur vest that was $90 and loved it. Before I bought it, she said wait mom... she went to the little girls dept and they had a vest almost identical. She bought an XL in the 7-14 department for $35. The L fit but she wanted it roomy to wear over something thicker if needed. CUTE vest too! I can wear it as well... just not fastened!
