J.,
I work from home and I think it is totally worth it. I sell Avon and believe it or not, Avon does offer insurance rates that are comparable to what one pays with employer sponsered insurance. There is health and life insurance. Avon didn't use to have any kind of insurance so it is nice mow that they do. There is also a savings plan similiar to a employer based 401k. Avon has changed so much and it is so much easier than when my mother was selling it. There are no territories. You can sell where ever you want to whom ever you want. Avon will even give you a website where you can sell all over the country and the products be shipped directly to the customer.
It is only $10 to start and that gives you everything that you need to get started. Avon also gives you a full 50% eranings on your first four campaigns when you order over the internet to help you get started.
I can tell you this, I sold several years ago and quit. My cousin brought me back in because it is so different and so much better now. It is really easy. Heck, Avon has been around over 120 years and it really does sell itself. My very first campaign I sold over $300 worth of products and I only knew one of those customers. I came back to Avon midway through a campaign so I only had barely over a week to get my order so that was pretty good.
Avon has realized that it is us representatives out here making the sales that have made Avon a billion dollar company. They recognize that we deserve to be rewarded. That's why my cousin has been on three free cruises from Avon and several trips within the US.
I could go on and on about this, but I won't do that here. If you would like to know more, please feel free to email me at ____@____.com. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. It really is a great opportunity and I DO love my job. It allows me to be home with my kiddos and homeschool them. I work when I want and am able to rearrange my schedule as needed. It's great.
Avon is also one of the most, if not THE most inexpensive beauty companies out there. We just launched a product fairly recently. We offer it for less than $30. Our two closest competitors offer it for $450 and $700. Is that crazy or what? And our product is double the strength (not too strong, but not so weak that you have to use 2-3 times as much to get the results.
Okay, I did ramble on some more. It's just that I do really believe in the company and know it has been a great opportunity for me. Again, if you have any questions or think you might be interested, let me know.
Great luck to you in whatever avenue you choose.
L.
