She could have an allergy. Try an elimination diet--most likely culprit dairy, then wheat, soy, eggs, corn, acids. You could try charting problems and what you eat, and see if there are any allergies or sensitivities that run in the family.
My daughter is two month old today. she would get frustrated while latching on to me initially and hence would drink either my expressed milk or Enfimil Lipil with iron all thru the day. Her poop would be musturdy with either yellow or green in colour.
Past one week, I somehow managed to get her latched on and now she is exclusively breastfed. But she started having watery poop yellow in colour, little little after every feeding for almost 1/2 an hour and cries / get cranky while doing it. I tried to message her stomach and legs but nothing seems to sooth her. I gave her gripe water and also milicon to help her with flautence, nothing seems to work with her.
My concern is whether watery poop is something unusual. Because there is absolutely no granular substance in her poop. Secondly why she might be crying and how can I help her with her comfortable pooping pattern.
My stomach is absolutely fine, no gasses, no constipation which might be affecting her. Please help
Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I shall try to stop dairy product for few days and see. But its very frustrating to see her getting cranky and in pain just before getting poop and while doing it and after wards for around 20/30 minutes. To sum up, it happens every 2 hours as I feed her almost every 2 hours. Any suggestions to reduce her pain while pooping. Adivce would be highly appreciated.
thanks.

The Watery poo is somewhat normal with breast fed babies. My son is 6 months old and still has watery poo. For me it sucks becasue it is only once or twice a week so it is huge and gets everywhere. When he was a few weeks old I noticed that he would cry alot any time I had alot of dairy. So I stopped eating dairy and then seemed to help him.
Talk to your pediatrician and or lactation consultant. But I believe that is normal. But like others have mentioned it may be something in your diet. Good luck...
watery poo is definitely normal for breastfed babies. my 4mos olds poo is very watery. as for the crying, my son does that too. my ped says it is nothing to worry about. check out if it is dairy or something, as the previous people suggested. I had to give up all dairy due to his problems with reflux as well as mucus in his poop. In my opinion, some babies just don't like the way it feels to poop. my son gets less fussy about it as time goes on. good luck!
It might be caffeine, too, if you drink a lot of caffeine..
