Yes it is! If you have an adequate milk supply, the Sudafed you have to buy behind the counter is safe too. Benadryl is safe also. Hope you feel better!
Hi ladies. I gave birth to our lovely daughter two weeks ago and I pretty much got a cold and a cough right after I got home. I haven't been taking any meds because I am breastfeeding. My sister in law just told me Tylenol is safe for breastfeeding. Just wondering if this is true.
Thanks.

Yes! Tylenol is safe. A good source of info for medicines during breastfeeding is http://neonatal.ama.ttuhsc.edu/lact/medicationforumspage....
Dr. Hales is generally recognized as the expert on the topic, and you can look up most medicines on the website.
Most meds are actually pretty safe for breastfeeding. A GREAT, free place to look them up online is the National Institutes of Health's Lact med database.
Yes it is breastfeeding friendly - majority of drugs are, especially over the counter. I have Dr Hales's Medications and Mother's Milk - if you ever have any particular drug questions in regards to breastfeeding safety.
Yes, I've taken it while breastfeeding all five of my children.
Yes, tylenol is safe but it's a pain-reliever and I'm not sure if it would help you out with your cold...unless you have a head-ache from coughing. Congratulations on your baby!!!!! :-)
Yes, Tylenol is safe to take while you are breastfeeding. It won't help with the cold unless you are achy as it's only a pain reliever.
I highly recommend Dr Hale's website http://www.infantrisk.com/ you can look up medications to see if they are safe while breastfeeding.
Congratulations on your new baby and hope you feel better soon!
Tylenol is safe but it is a pain reliever. I would talk to a pharmacist or the doctor on call and see what you can take for the cold.
