Is This Job Safe to Take On?

I am known as kind of a "fix-it guy" at my occupation, and that's a great title to have on your resume as long as it is your's AND the hiring manager's intentions. I wrote a book in my industry called "service Writing in Black and White", but in my position at Don Chalmers Ford -- I am just another advisor. Make Sense?

If you are just going to have a position with out the set goal of improvement ---- move on. If on the other hand the challenge is accepted by both parties to improve --- rock it.

It sounds like to me you have the passion to make a differance at this establishment. Like someone said on the other post, make sure that they are really giving you full authority to "clean up" and then GO FOR IT!!!!! There arent enough people in the world work honest work ethics and I applaud yours!!

Personally I feel that you should go for it. With the agreement that you have complete authority to make all changes you feel necessary. Then get in there and make it happen. Be those kids hero it sounds like they need one.

I think if you can improve a situation for children's lives, it's worth doing.

Talk to the people who would hire you. Ask them specific questions - "What would be my authority in the case of..." It can be something you've seen there, but I'd go more on the "made up" side of it. This way you can get a feel for your level of authority. Also, I'd ask them to put that into writing what they are telling you - or, take in a small tape recorded - you can record any conversation you are a part of. Then, IF the stuff comes down the pike, you've got back up. But, I think that you sound interested in this job - for a number of reasons. Feel out their idea of what you have authority over, and if you're comfortable with it - I'd say go for it!! Don't live your life undera cloud of timidity - it sucks! And you'll look back at a life of regrets.
