Haha, ever met a person who would repeat his or her own statement over and over so you "GET IT"? I know someone who does and when they do that I just want to giggle and say... there you go again. I heard you the first time... LOL

They would go on to explain why they think the sky is blue.. and then end that whole story with.. and so you see, the sky is actually blue because (and repeat the whole explanation, but in a more simple way as if you did not understand it the first time..) LOL!

No question.. just some silly chatter... but feel free to comment.

So What Happened?

Oh how funny.. all of your comments made me smile... And the one about the lady who finishes your sentences.. oooohhh yeah, know that one too... In fact I can be guilty of that.. I don't know why I do it sometimes, maybe to impress the other person... "AHA! See I know what you are talking about" so they dont repeat themselves? Out of habit? Who knows! I just know it can be annoying and I really try hard not to finish before someone else does... LOL... Hold my breath and count to ten before I interrupt..

haha, that is my hubby!

He operates on the classic speech-giving technique:
First I'm going to tell you what I'm going to talk about.
Then I'm going to talk about it.
Finally I am going to tell you what I talked about.

Used to drive me crazy, but now I know when I can tune out and start thinking about other things while he is rehashing his spiel :)

I mean, I'm being for serious, my mom and sister do this all the time.

It's like a 5 minute convo turns into a 20 min one b/c my mom and sis BOTH DO THIS!!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. ;)

My husband sometimes does this. "Honey, can you take this check to the bank and ask the teller to put it into our checking account, not savings?" "ok, no problem" "Because last time they put it into checking by mistake." "ok, I'll make sure" "Yeah, please do, because they can't make that mistake again" "OK, I SAID I'D TAKE CARE OF IT!" "Thanks, honey, just tell the teller 'I need to put this check into checking, not savings'" etc. Very annoying! Sometimes, if I'm feeling snarky, I'll let him continue forever with that. "WHICH account did you say it needed to go in again?" "And WHERE should I park at the bank?" "And if I tell the teller 'checking', will they know what I'm talking about?" "Savings, right? Oh, no? Oh, right, CHECKING!" I know I'm just being a beyotch about it, because I'm so annoyed at him treating me like a baby. For crying out loud, I run this house like a well-oiled machine! Eventually he catches on and we have a good laugh. He does it to my sister and BIL, too, but not as much anymore, since we're always calling him on it. Actually, it's more funny than annoying most of the time, now that I'm thinking about it...

I fall into this from time to time. Comes from nearly 20 years around kids, having to repeat myself, I suppose.

Yes! I know people like that.
I also have an in-law who tries to finish almost every sentence I speak! I don't mean that she does it when you're stuck and can't think of the proper word. I could say, "We took the kids to the..." and she will insert "zoo" and try to guess rather that just allow me to finish the sentence. She also repeats the ends of things. If I say, "We took the kids to the mall", she will echo "to the mall". She has not always done that and it's weird and annoying. The sentence completing was starting to rub off on my 6yo DD, but fortunately, I got her to stop. Whew! Lol :o)

I am cracking up.

My husband says I do this!

My argument is that he probably didn't hear me the first time - too busy watching basketball.

Okay, I am a repeater... when I talk to people.
LOL

My Husband tells me that. I know it.
Oh well.
I just tend to talk fast and emphatically and am very expressive.

Thanks for reminding me. ;)

Yep... that person is me...

hahaha... I don't think people don't "hear me" I just tend to "loop" when I am really fired up about something. Thankfully most people don't mention it to me... If I catch myself doing it I try to stop...

When I was in college I always had to edit my papers to make sure I wasn't saying the same thing 2 or 3 times... in fact, my first college English teacher told me to read through my papers and make sure no sentences were duplicated. I had great points to make, and awesome evidence to "prove" them... but I had a bad habit of over-emphasizing the point. LOL

-M.

PS- hehehe.... I think I got worse after I got married. I will try to hammer in my point to my husband, but it doesn't work... then he gives me that "dumb" look when he forgets to do something and I look at him and say... Remember me asking you 15 TIMES? Remember that... and he says... "um, I forgot..." ---- ugh! I love him dearly, but some people just have everything go in one ear and out the other, and he is one of them! LOL

I'm like this one here, some. Mainly because the same questions are asked a lot. My husband is REALLY bad about this. It's the one thing about him, that drives me nuts!!
