Is There a Sippy Cup Out There That Doesn't Leak!!!????

The foogos by thermos is fabulous! It is hard to find in stores though. Target carries it and you can get it online. Lots of places carry it online.

I use the playtex ones with the double handles attached to the lid. AS long as I have the stoppers pushed in it doesn't leak!

I like the Gerber or Gerber Graduates they have a white plug (you can see it in the easier than the clear ones) the only time time the plug has came out is when he threw it on the ground. but I am always looking for something new. and watch for tricky words on the packaging because they try to word play like leak-proof-(but not drip proof). good luck

We used playtex insulators, and never had a leak (the double valve is pretty key so that air goes in as liquid goes out).., BUT, some tips:

- We always tossed the double valves in the dishasher (skewered them on the prongs of the dishwasher). If they're not clean, the little flaps don't work as well.
- The valves are slightly different sizes, making sure they're in the right hole is key
- Making sure the valves are pushed in hard & tight
- When you screw on the lid, if it's super full, the air pressure will squirt some of the liquid into the mouthpiece. Turn the cup upside down over the sink to drip it out or take a big sip. (My son had a thing for hot chocolate, darn)

*** If your son is blowing air INTO the cup, you SOL. Because he's creating a pressure that will guarantee that the liquid comes out as soon as he sets it down***

well i have a very active 23 month old and the best one i think are the take and toss.. i dont know the brand, they are easier to clean than the other cups and the leaking is very minimal, its good because you can wash them and use them again yet when they are too worn you can buy news ones they are very inexpensive.

i love the platex ones witht the rubbery stopper. my daughter whos 2 is also rough on her cups throwing them all over. with the platex cups sometimes the valve can come loose (like all cups especially with the plastic valves in gerber cups) and you have to fix it so it doesnt leak. spill proof doesnt mean it wont leak at all it just means that it wont leak out everytime your baby tips it to drink. good luck!

it may sound silly but i used to open the cup then re-close the lid. sometimes the suction would cause air pressure to push the liquid out, esp. when turned upside down.

Nalgene makes an awesome cup!!! You can get these at R.E.I. or other outdoor type stores. I am attaching a link for these, but we paid $7 so these are a little bit overpriced. I just wanted you to see what they looked like. They do not leak! They do have valves and if they get thrown hard enough, they will pop out. I have a 4 yr old girl and 16 mo old boy and am super happy with these!!!

I have not had a problem with the Playtex sippy cups leaking. You can buy extra valves for the Playtex so maybe yours just need to be replaced!

We love our Kleen Kanteen with the sippy top. I have not had problems with it leaking, and I like that it's stainless steel, not plastic. And- when your son gets older you can put the "sport top" on it.

Hi there. We never used the plastic sippy cups, so I know that the transition is totally do-able.... We have always used the Sigg bottles. You open and close the sippy top. We also use Safe Sippy, which is still a bit leaky, but we don't get massive disasters. Just a couple of drops.

Be prepared, however, to spend a littl bit more!

Have you tried playtex brand sippy cups I have never had a problem with them leaking on me.

We started using Klean Kanteens (made from stainless steel) due to BPA issues and have been VERY happy with them. They don't leak! Pricey, but they last forever -- and beverages stay colder longer.

I'm sure you're going to get a lot of responses, so if I repeat one, I'm sorry.. However, the ONLY sippy cup we use is the NUK brand orthodontic cup. It's wonderful. It will not leak at ALL. It has a soft "spout" and a removeable handle. My son rarely used a bottle. We basically went from breast to the NUK cup. You can find it at WalMart for around $5.00 or so. We liked it so much, we've just purchased a second one a few weeks ago that is exactly like it. Good luck!

I like the Dr. Brown's sippy cup ... hardly ever leaks. I just throw it in my bag, no problem, no wetness!!

So far, after 3 kids, the best I have found has been the sippy cup at Jamba Juice....it's green and yellow....and easy to reach in and clean...and I think it's like $3.

We do okay with the munchkin straw sippy that has a thingy that closes on the top- folds down the straw- sorry I don't know the correct name. I think the folding of the straw keeps the leek out.

Yes there is!!! I finally found it, maybe because they just started making them? But it's my new favorite cup AND there is no valve thingy to wash, love it! I threw out all my other sippy cups when I got these, and I had a bunch. It's from First Years and comes in a pack of two, for $7 or $8 depends on where you get it from...Target, Babies R Us, or Burlington Coat Factory, that's where I've seen them. We have Gerber. 2 different kinds... and they are both the best. The NUBY cups are terrible!! But I've had the best luck with the Gerber. The ones that work the best seem to be the bigger ones. I wish I had an actual name for you other than that.. Good luck! I too, hate it when his old cups leaked. :)

Honestly, all sippy cups leak. With my son we tried all of them and spent a fortune on them. With my daughter, we just used the Nuby ones...the ones that are $1 a piece at Walmart and now (she is 2) the Take and Toss ones...the 3 packs that are under $3. We've been using the Take and Toss ones since she was about 18 months. No sense is spending a ton of money since they all leak anyways.

The ones that leaked the least actually are the Nuby stage 2 ones. But you have to line up the indentations on the nipple correctly to the lines on the cap or they will leak. And you have to make sure that there are no particles of gunk stuck in the top part of the nipple. But they work the best in my opinion. And are the easiest to clean since there are no extra parts. Sometimes you gotta uses a toothpick to get the yuck out of the tiny parts of the nipple, but that's it. Same with the Take and Toss ones.

Foogoo by Thermos. Target has them, and so does Toys R Us so I assume Babies R Us may too.
Not only for leaking, but they keep stuff cold forever, and the straw is much better for speech development than traditional sippies.

I used the playtex, comes in a pack of two (Pink and purple). My daughter is 15 months and throws her cups, drops them etc.... and never once have they leaked. They are playtex and I was amazed that not one drop comes out of the top. There is no design on them, just solid color. I saw that you listed these cups so maybe you got a faulty set but they have never leaked on me. (They do not have a straw.......got them at Target.

You may need to replace the valves. babies r us sells replacment valves for most lids. I love the platex cups-new valves are cheap.

I was having a terrible time with leaky sippy cups. A friend of mine bought me a Nuby from Walmart, the .97 cent one (there are more expensive ones there also in the same brand), and it has worked the best. It rarely drips or leaks. Make sure the lids are on tight. Good Luck!

I would second the foogos cups- they work well, and are fairly hardy, though I have had similar thermos straw cups break- the lid will crack if it's dropped on the floor. But it doesn't leak, as long as the lid gets snapped back on. My current favorite, however is the Tummy Ticklers bottles. They are sold in the juice section with Apple juice in them, but you can reuse them, wash them in the dishwasher, etc. But they are crazy hard to find. I've seen them at Target on occasion, and Wal-Mart. They don't seem to leak, so long as they are dry when they are capped.

I don't really know who the maker is, but I love the Sesame Street sippy cups at Target. They are about $5 for a single cup. I used them for my son(he is now 5) and use them for my 17 month old currently. Now, they also have a cup by the same people with a straw. I spent tons of money on cups, and these seem not to leak, and are really easy to wash. Good luck!

Also Gerber makes some too....maybe those are called little sipper. Both have little vavles that you have to remove and clean, but I just soak them in hot soapy water.

I too had this problem. The only one I found that doesn't leak is made by Sigg. You can find them at Whole Foods. It's a bit pricy, but I can always through it in my diaper bag or stroller to take to the park, and it NEVER leaks. Also good are those sports bottle-types that you can get at a sporting goods store - made of high density plastic or metal. They now come in much smaller sizes. Good luck.
