I have a strange situation and need to ask someone what to do regarding applying for nursing programs. The issue is I will finish with prerequisites, but then we will be moving for my husband's residency. We don't know where yet. I'd like to put as much in place as I can and make sure I don't miss any requirements, and also contact prospective programs once we have a clue about potential destinations to ask what they need.
Does a national organization even exist that might be able to offer some guidance?

They have a career section. Maybe you can start there.
You could also try your state nursing association, which may be able to give you some idea of how things are consistent state-to-state, and how they vary. They may be able to refer you to another national organization, or several.
I would imagine your academic advisor at school could help you with this, at least I HOPE this is information s/he would have! Or speak with the nursing school director or president, these people should be able give you some guidance.
Prereqs vary school to school. The basics are the same, anatomy, chemistry, etc, but there are some fine nuances. My first nursing school had nutrition as a prereq but the school I transferred to had nutrition as an actual nursing course.
For things like this, your best bet is going to be talking to the school you hope to go to directly. A nation nursing organization isn't going to know the ins and outs individual school in every state.

Teaching degrees vary from state to state and I've heard that nursing degree requirements do too. I think you are doing a good thing to look ahead like this. If you do need to do a few additional classes when you settle in a new place it shouldn't be a big deal. I would think most states have similar requirements overall.
