I was going to say presidents dayish. We got amazing bunk beds foe under $300 including 1 mattress. The retail was over $1700 w/o the mattress. We also got sofas for 70% off at that time too.
Ok, we've been renovating the house and added another room. We need a large bookshelf, a sofa, and a love seat. My husband wants me to ask my "mom thing" if any of you are in the know on a good time or "season" for furniture sales. Electronics, cars, those have obvious days. What about furniture?

A web site, frugalliving, says that February and August are the best time to buy furniture because that is when new styles come out. There are several web sites to answer this question. I found them by googling "best time to buy furniture. "

Here is a list of the best time to purchase all sorts of things.
if you don't mind used, I've found good stuff on craigslist
I find what I like then keep in contact with the store. We got our bed for $3000 less, seriously, then got free $100 pillows thrown in.
We got a couch and large chair buy one get one piece of the set 1/2 price. I saved $400.
I didn't have the money to buy the counter stools I have picked out when they were on sale a couple of months ago. If I had been able to get them they would have been $115 each instead of $198 each. Special order too.
Over the period of 6 months we kept an eye on the sales at the furniture store and got their best deals.
No, you just have to watch for sales. Here they go on all year. You can sometimes get better deals around the different holidays.
For whatever reason (I suspect because people have income tax refunds at this time) around here there are Presidents' Day furniture sales. But they also have sales throughout the year.
I always check on Craigslist first for furniture. There are some really nice things for a mere fraction of what you pay new. A lot of the newer furniture isn't very well made. If you are looking for a bookshelf, there are some very nice ones available and sofas too just be selective
I just wanted to say I laughed out loud that your husband wanted you to ask your "mom thing"! :)
You just need to watch for the sales, which seem to be frequently. I believe many stores just did a Columbus Day sale.
I know they always have President Day sales in February.
