Here is the contact info for a company that installs playsets and anything else requiring assembly. They are Assemblies Done Right and are located in the DFW metro area. www.assembliesdoneright.com ###-###-####
Hi Moms!
I wanted to purchase a wooden swing set at Walmart, but have no one around to put it together.
Does anyone know of a company, business, or handyman person to do this sort of thing??
I wonder if it pays to purchase a swing set at Toys r Us, since they do install swing sets? (but soo pricey) :(
Any help would be great!
Thanks everyone! I will check out Home Depot and Lowes.

It would seem to me that anybody who wanted to operate such an assembly business could make good money!
You could ask your neighbors if they know such a person. If you go to church, ask around there. You could even ask at your local hardware store! If you can, get references, because you'll definitely want someone who knows what he/she's doing.
How much more is the Toys R Us swing set? We bought ours at TRU, and it was a great deal. We put it together ourselves, and I am not kidding, it took 40 man hours. And ours isn't even really that big. We had two friends help us all day one weekend, and then my husband would come home from work and work on it until the sun went down. It took several days. I will say that we are not the handiest of people, so you might be able to do better on your own. But honestly, if you think of that much time, the per hour cost of you not having to do it almost makes it worth paying extra.
And if you go with TRU, they have to stand behind the product and assembly, right? That was always my concern, if something were to break on the play structure that they could blame it on poor assembly.
You can do this yourself! Directions are included. Have a little faith.
Lowe's and Home Depot & some of the ACE hardware stores keep a list of building contractors and handymen that they do business with. You might ask there. Also, Home Depot started something called Beacon where you can list the job you want done and their approved contractors will bid on your job on the internet. Try that-- I did that when I needed to get some high ceiling fixtures installed. Good luck!

You would probably have to find a handyman to do something like that. I don't know of anyone personally. You might try Home Depot, Lowes, etc because sometimes they have business cards of people who do work on the side posted at the front of the building.
When we bought our set in 2000 we got a high end brand and they came out to install it.. it was factored in the price. It was a high end set that was well used for many years.
I think you should ask on your facebook page (assuming you have one). Your friends and family might know of someone and can refer him/her to you.
There are some churches that help men who need money and put them to work too.
i know a few fellows who would love to earn a little extra cash by taking care of this for you.
it'll be a little pricey for YOU to get them from maryland to texas.
but holler if you want contact info!

Check for anyone that does construction.. Craigslist is a great place to start.
Call around to civic groups, I would call the Lions club first because I know they build and install wheelchair ramps on people's homes. But you can call the boy scouts, churches etc. If you find a handyman to do this you will pay a lot (about $15-$20/hr) and it takes at least two people.
If you call around you may be able to find a volunteer group who want to help out single Moms.
I don't know of any specifically, but a handyman might do it.
Ask around your local Home Depot or Lowes and check the white pages.
you can go to Lowes and Home Depot stores and ask for a list of contractors. We had a complicated one and he charged us 250.
