Hi Angie,
If she is gaining weight, and not straining to poop, there shouldn't be any problem. Our son pooped maybe every week at that age. We considered ourselves extra lucky!
My little girl is little over 3 weeks old and doesn't have any problems with latching and staying on. I'm feeding her on demand. It could be anything between 1.5 hours when she's awake and 4 hours at night. She has about 7-10 wet diapers depending on if we use cloth or sposies. Now here is the thing: she rearly poops.....maybe once in 2-4 days. The stool is soft-mustard-colored-breastfed-baby-like....Should I be worried. I always read most newborns poop few times a day.........
Thanks for your replies ladies. I decided to take my daughter to the doctor yesterday and the doctors diagnosis was: colicky baby. I'm still in denial though but we will see and try to make the best out of it, if this is the case.
I definitely know she is eating enough. She has gained almost a pound in 10 days.

My little girls had some troubles in the beginning. It it goes more then 3 days then you can worry and try to help assist the bowel movement. Feel her stomach and she if it is bloated. Sometimes people have to get an expository. But all we ever did was use a Q-tip with Vaseline on it and swiped it around the very front area and sometimes further back. It didn't hurt her, just be ready to wipe. When she does have bowel movements is it a lot? If not, then perhaps she isn't getting enough. But because it is breast milk it is a lot more efficient and their little bodies absorb more.
Hope this helps!
hello my daughter had the same issue and it went away after a while she went through stages of being backed up. I had a few suppositories that helped. I think their little GI tract is just so new that it is trying to figure out how to work still LOL. My daughter also had some nasty colic in her first 3 months. Good luck the wet diapers is a good indication that she is getting milk from you=)
No worries - breastfed babies can poop very little until they start getting solids. Both of my daughters would poop about once a week until they started solids. If your baby isn't in pain or uncomfortable don't worry about it. :)
